The Adventist Medical Center College is glad to have you aboard! At this point, we would like to
present to you the learning modalities that the high school department will use in the delivery of
lessons for the school year 2021 – 2022.
Slide 2:
The faculty members of Adventist Medical Center College were trained to make sure that students
learn by engaging them lessons and activities that allow them to not only get deeper learning but
also help develop their critical thinking. Each lesson will follow the 4D model or the DISCOVER,
DISCUSS, DEEPEN and DEMONSTRATE
DISCOVER – Gives learners opportunities to explore the lesson before they are launched to direct
instruction. This means that teachers will post modules before the virtual class and may ask
students to perform pre-activities to help develop students’ interest on the lesson
DISCUSS – This is an opportunity for teachers and students to have shared learning experience.
Teachers may require students to answer questions during Virtual Classes and/or present ideas
based through reporting.
DEEPEN - The teacher consolidates ideas and facilitates students’ construction of new concept or
meaning by linking previously learned concepts. Practice drills and formative assessments are given
at this stage.
DEMOSTRATE – Teacher challenges students to demonstrate what they learn through long exams,
authentic assessments such as projects or practicum
Slide 3
Each lesson taught in our school have 5 key ingredients:
SELF-PACED LEARNING – ASYNCHRONOUS LEARNING
Classes are scheduled the same as the regular class; however, students are not required to
attend the virtual class for the whole day. Each subject has scheduled virtual classes; therefore, on
schedules for self-paced learning; students are expected to work on their assigned activities for the
week. This means that PARENTS SHOULD consider scheduling their children’s household chores
beyond the class hours.
LIVE EVENT – SYNCHRONOUS LEARNING
This is when teachers meet their students virtually to test students’ understanding, ask
questions, let students say something, and correct misconceptions.
COLLABORATION
Interaction is not only between the student and the teacher but also among students. Some
activities that the teachers will require will require students to work together in order to complete a
task.
Slide 4
ASSESSMENT
These are quizzes, exams, and practicums that the teacher gives the students to gauge how
much they learned from the class.
ENRICHMENT WORK
These are projects that will showcase students’ understanding
Slide 5 -6
For students who opted for modular mode of learning, they must first seek the approval of the
principal and once given the consent, they will be required to do extra activities in lieu of the online
requirements.
The following are the additional requirements: (read the slide)

*** read the text on slide and then add details below***
1. Find a quiet place --- learning requires focus. It is important that you choose a place in your
house where you can focus
2. Show up on time --- being on time is showing respect to the time of others. Schedules are
made to help you determine your priorities and so you can spend the right time on the right
tasks.
3. Be respectful --- AMCC is God’s institution. We do not tolerate the use of any offensive, foul
or inappropriate language and gestures

3. Think before you post something --- freedom of expression requires absolute responsibility,
and it does not mean you have the freedom to express just about everything. If you have
problems with your teachers, school staff members and/or administrator; approach them
properly or seek help from your adviser, guidance counselor, and/or student council.

3. Make use of none busy weeks to work on requirements. There is a purpose why teachers
announce their requirements ahead of time. There is also a reason why there are weeks
when teachers don’t require as much activities as the other weeks
Slide 14
As a general rule, the dress code for virtual classes is simply to wear something that is
reasonably modest; meaning wear something that covers the body well and decently.
