Job Summary:
A leading financial technology company based in Mumbai is seeking a talented and
experienced Data Scientist to join our team. As a Data Scientist, you will be
responsible for extracting insights from complex data sets, developing predictive
models, and providing valuable data-driven solutions to drive business growth and
enhance customer experience. The ideal candidate should have a solid background
in statistical analysis, machine learning, and programming, along with excellent
communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and define business problems,
objectives, and requirements that can be addressed through data analysis and
modeling.
2. Develop and implement innovative data science solutions to solve complex
business challenges, using techniques such as statistical analysis, machine learning,
and data mining.
3. Extract, clean, and preprocess large data sets from various sources to ensure
data quality and reliability.
4. Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can
drive business decisions.
5. Build and deploy predictive models to forecast customer behavior, optimize
business processes, and improve operational efficiency.
6. Conduct statistical analysis and hypothesis testing to validate model performance
and ensure accuracy.
7. Collaborate with software engineers and IT teams to integrate data science
solutions into production systems.
8. Communicate findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders through reports,
presentations, and visualizations.
9. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning,
and related fields, and identify opportunities for their application within the company.
10. Mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists, sharing best practices and
fostering a culture of data-driven decision making.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
A master's degree or higher is preferred.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data
mining techniques.
4. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, along with
experience using data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy,
scikit-learn).
5. Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks
(e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
6. Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques to effectively communicate
complex data insights.
7. Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills with the ability to work with
large and complex data sets.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present findings
and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple
projects simultaneously.
10. Proven track record of delivering high-quality results and meeting project
deadlines.
