for kindergarten

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, pupils are expected to:
A. Recognize and identify the letter "M" in both uppercase and lowercase
forms.
B. Develop an interest in the letter "M" by associating it with familiar words
and objects.
C. Practice writing the letter "M" through various hands-on activities.

A. Preparation

Good morning, everyone! 🌞 Let's start our day Good morning too teacher!
with a big smile.

Can we all stand up for a moment,

Okay so this morning we will be having a


new lesson but before that we will sing a
song. We will sing the Magical Letter M song.
So, the song goes this way! (Students)

So, based on the song, do you have now an M teacher!
idea what is our lesson for this morning?

Very good, so our lesson is all about the (All student is listening to the discussion)
letters in the alphabet but this morning we
will focus on letter M

So, this is letter M

Letter M is in the 13th letter in the alphabet.

So, this picture is the capital letter M,

and this one is the small letter m.


So, let's say that this is the Mommy M, and
Baby m.

So, the sound of M is /m/.

Everybody says "Muh".


“Muh”
Again!

Very Good!

Now what are the things that start with letter


M? So, in order for you to know, I have here a
picture.
(the children are observing the picture)

Now, based on the picture, what are the things


that starts with letter M? (Jhah will answer)

Yes, Monkey!
So, the word monkey starts with Letter M.
Everybody says m-monkey! (Jhah)

Have you ever seen a monkey before? (Jun m-monkey!

That's interesting! Monkeys are fascinating (Jun)


creatures. Yes teacher, I saw a monkey at the zoo once!

So next picture is?

Yes exactly!
This is a mango!

Everybody say m-mango!


so have you eaten a mango before?
So how's the taste?
Yes! Mango are delicious! So what's the color (All student)
of a mango? m-mango!
Yellow Very Good! Yes teacher!
So, the word Mango starts with Letter M. Delicious!
So M is for Mango
Yellow!
Okay class , now please get your pencil if you
don’t have just tell teacher okay?
(Handing out whitepaper to each student.)

And we will use this white paper (Students will get their pencils)
Let's start with the capital letter M.
Okay, class follow me.
Okay class point your pencil to the top and
make a straight line like this and then go back
to the top and make a slanted line like this,
Repeat the slanted line on the right side,
creating a "V" shape in the center. Now (students follow)
Go back to the top and draw another straight
line like this.

Now who wants to show their work?

Yes, John!

Wow! Great job John! (John raise his hand)

(John shows his work)

Now let's write the small m.


Okay start with a small straight line down and
add two curves going up and down. Then
finish with a short line at the bottom.
Did you get it?

Now you try, Akisha

Great job, Akisha! Yes teacher!


Now class, write 5 capital letter M and 5
small letter M on your practice sheet.
Okay? Then pass it to me after. (Akisha write the small letter m)

D. Application
Yes, teacher
Now class its drawing time! (students follow the instruction of teacher)
I have here bond papers and all you need to
do is to draw the things that start with letter M
and then on the top of the paper write there
the Letter M. Then paste your work on the
board. Is that clear?

E. Generalization.
Yes teacher!
Now class, take a look at this works here. Do
