Introduction:
"Abortion" is a subject with too much controversy and it is one of the problems
facing Mexico and the world, this is produced by many factors such as those
presented below, the debate begins when the question is asked:
Is it okay to legalize or allow abortion?
Well, all people have different ways of thinking, there are people who think that it
is okay to allow it, just as there are some others who think that it should not be
allowed.
Abortion:
Abortion is the premature interruption and termination of pregnancy, naturally or
voluntarily, done before the fetus reaches 5 months in the mother's womb.
Life is very beautiful depending on the point of view of each individual, as well as
being a mother is very rewarding, one of the best sensations is watching a child
grow, seeing how he laughs, how he plays, how he develops his skills. People who
decide not to be mothers may be due to the lack of support from the corresponding
person, due to pressure from parents because of what society will say, among
many others.
This occurs when the mother makes the decision to get rid of a human being that
is a nuisance or a mistake for her or them, but they do not think about it at the time
of having unprotected sex, in Mexico it is used as a contraceptive method, Most of
the people who usually practice it are teenagers who are minors, the fault that
every day this is seen as something normal is that people are not informed of what
can happen after an abortion, as well as the doctors who perform this type of work,
since by doing them they earn much more money.
Types of abortion:
There are several types of abortions such as:
Spontaneous abortion:
Miscarriage is an intentional unintended abortion. It is the unwanted death and
expulsion of an embryo or fetus before the 20th or 24th week of pregnancy. When
the loss is later, there is already talk of fetal death. To the criterion of gestational
time, the World Health Organization (WHO) adds as a criterion that it must weigh
less than 500 grams. However, this criterion has to be interpreted with caution,
since sometimes a fetus of less than 500 g. expelled can be revived and survive. If
he dies later, it is recorded as a neonatal death. Precocious abortion is
distinguished, when it takes place before 12 weeks of gestation, and late abortion,
with 12 or more weeks.
The factors that can cause spontaneous abortion are very varied: genetic or
chromosomal of the same fetus, exposure to environmental toxins, hormonal
problems of the mother, and others such as smoking, drug addiction or alcoholism.
Signs and symptoms include vaginal bleeding, low back pain, dull, sharp or crampy
abdominal pain, or clots coming out of the vagina. All of them must be evaluated by
a gynecologist and many times require immediate attention. Given the symptoms,
there are various tests and examinations to verify or prevent this type of abortion,
such as vaginal or abdominal ultrasound that helps to examine the development of
the embryo / fetus, the heartbeat and the amount of bleeding. In case of abortion, it
is essential for the health of the woman to check if there is any fetal or placental
tissue left in the uterus, in the case that there are fetal remains they must be
removed immediately. The expelled product must be analyzed to determine if the
cause of the miscarriage is treatable and to prevent it in the future.
Induced abortion:
Induced abortion is the termination of pregnancy by removing an embryo or fetus
before it can survive outside the uterus. It can be a therapeutic abortion, when it is
performed for medical reasons, or an abortion by personal decision (voluntary
termination of pregnancy), when it is performed at the request of the pregnant
woman.
In turn, depending on the technique used to induce abortion, one can speak of
medical abortion or medical abortion and surgical abortion.
Depending on the countries, there are various laws on induced abortion, from
those that allow it with few restrictions because it is considered an extension of
reproductive rights to laws that prohibit it because it is considered a form of
homicide.
Therapeutic abortion:
Therapeutic abortion is the interruption caused by the vital development of the
embryo or fetus (which is why it is an induced abortion), but which is preceded by
strictly medical reasons. These reasons include whether the mother's health
(physical or mental) is directly compromised with said pregnancy or, where
appropriate, if the mother's life is at risk.
Indirect abortion:
Indirect abortion is when the death of the fetus occurs in a medical intervention in
which two conditions must be met:
• The intervention is intended to save the life of the pregnant mother in situations in
which she is in certain danger.
• The viability of the fetus is zero according to the knowledge of the case or
disorder.
Therefore, it is not equated with therapeutic abortion, since it occurs in medical
interventions other than abortion itself, this being a derived consequence, not
directly intended, and therefore, it implies bioethical considerations that are very
different from induced abortion. It is considered indirect abortion even when the
doctor knows that his intervention can affect the fetus, but if he does not intervene,
or wait for the fetus to be viable outside the uterus, both the mother and the fetus
would be dead.
Causes of abortion:
Fear of lack of economy to support the expenses generated by the child.
Fear of what parents and other people say.
Fear at 9 months of pregnancy and labor pain.
Health problems.
Fear of motherhood.
Problems with your partner or spouse.
Rape.
Consequences of abortion:
There are three types of effects that can affect an abortion, such as:
Physical effects:
Sterility
Miscarriages
Infections
Stillbirths of children
Menstrual disorders
Bleeding
Social effects:
Decreased work capacity
Loss of interest in sex
Child abuse
Feeling of dehumanization
Wish of end the relationship with his couple
Psychological effects:
Culpability
Suicidal urges
Feeling of loss
Dissatisfaction
Feeling of mourning
Worry about death
Conclusion:
In conclusion I can say that abortion is one of the most terrifying acts that exist,
because it is the end of the life of an innocent little angel.
Perhaps the people who think to make this decision should reflect, that there are
many couples who would like to have the happiness of having what they ignore (a
child).
There are human beings who are denied the right to love, to feel, the simple right
to live, there are some others whose arrival was expected and perhaps only have
one purpose, to make them value the most precious thing we have that is to live. .
We have to learn to take charge of the consequences of our own actions, there are
many people who have been able to get ahead and if they can, because not all the
others also, the path will not be easy, but we must encourage that abortion is no
longer practiced.
