What inspired you to become a teacher?

Answer: "I was inspired to become a teacher by my own high school history Sunday school teacher. Her
passion of telling the life of Jesus and how she make the class fun and engaging. I realized the impact a
good teacher can have on a student's life, and I wanted to be that kind of positive influence."

Can you describe your teaching philosophy?

Answer: "My teaching philosophy centers around the belief that every student has the potential to
succeed. I strive to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where students feel safe to
express their ideas and take intellectual risks. I believe in using a variety of teaching methods to cater to
different learning styles."

Classroom Management

What strategies do you use to manage classroom behavior?

Answer: "I believe in proactive classroom management. I set clear expectations from the beginning and
consistently reinforce them. I also build strong relationships with my students, so they understand that
my expectations are in place to help them succeed. Positive reinforcement is key, and I use praise and
rewards to encourage good behavior."

Can you describe a challenging classroom situation you’ve faced and how you handled it?

Answer: "During my on the job training, I had a student who frequently disrupted class. I took the time
to understand the root cause of his behavior, which turned out to be difficulties at home. I worked
closely with the school counselor and created a behavior plan that included regular check-ins with the
student. Over time, his behavior improved significantly."

Student Engagement and Instruction

How do you keep students engaged and motivated?

Answer: "I keep students engaged by making lessons interactive and relevant to their lives. I use a
variety of teaching methods, such as group work, hands-on activities, and technology integration. I also
give students choices in their learning to increase their investment and motivation."

How do you assess student understanding and progress?

Answer: "I use a mix of formative and summative assessments to gauge student understanding.
Formative assessments, like quizzes, exit tickets, and class discussions, help me monitor progress in real-
time and adjust my instruction as needed. Summative assessments, such as tests and projects, provide a
comprehensive picture of student learning."

Communication and Collaboration

How do you communicate with parents about their child's progress and behavior?

Answer: "I believe in maintaining open lines of communication with parents. I send regular updates
through email and our classroom website. For more significant concerns, I schedule parent-teacher
conferences or phone calls. I also encourage parents to reach out to me with any questions or concerns
they might have."

How do you collaborate with colleagues to enhance student learning?

Answer: "Collaboration is vital for student success. I regularly participate in professional learning
communities (PLCs) where we share strategies and resources. I also co-plan and co-teach with
colleagues when possible to provide a more comprehensive learning experience for our students."

Professional Development

How do you stay current with developments in education and your subject area?

Answer: "I stay current by attending workshops, webinars, and conferences. I also subscribe to several
educational journals and participate in online professional communities. Additionally, I pursue
continuous learning through courses and certifications relevant to my subject area."

What professional development activities have you participated in recently?

Answer: "Recently, I attended a workshop on differentiated instruction and completed an online course
on integrating technology in the classroom. Both experiences provided me with new strategies and tools
that I have already started implementing in my teaching."

Personal Attributes

What are your greatest strengths as a teacher?

Answer: "My greatest strengths are my ability to build strong relationships with students and my
adaptability. I create a classroom environment where students feel respected and valued, which fosters
their engagement and learning. I also adapt my teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of my
students."

What is an area you are working to improve in your teaching?

Answer: "I'm continually working on integrating more project-based learning into my curriculum. I
believe it promotes deeper understanding and helps students develop critical thinking and problem-
solving skills. I’m currently developing new projects that align with our learning objectives."

Scenario-Based Questions

How would you handle a situation where a student is consistently underperforming?

Answer: "I would start by trying to identify any underlying issues affecting the student's performance,
such as personal problems or learning difficulties. I would then meet with the student to discuss their
challenges and set achievable goals. I would also provide additional support, such as tutoring or
modifying assignments, and regularly monitor their progress."

What would you do if you noticed a student was being bullied?

Answer: "I would take immediate action to ensure the student's safety. I would separate the students
involved and report the incident to the appropriate school authorities. I would also work with the school
counselor to provide support to the bullied student and address the behavior of the bully. Creating a
safe and respectful classroom environment is a top priority."
