Image Resolution
Software: Photoshop 7.0
Level: Intermediate
Concept: Image is generally saved at 72 PPI resolutions because monitor displays the image with
actual size on the screen at 72 PPI. The monitor resolution is considered 72 DPI in general. If the
image is scanned at 144 PPI, it will be displayed with double size because 72 x 72 pixels will fit in 1
inch. Rest of the 72 x 72 pixels will occupy double space. The result is obvious ( odomxif&Sm;), the
double size of the original image. (yHkonf2qt&G,fjyornf)
1. Open Photoshop. Open an image with 72 PPI resolutions.
2. Open the image size dialogue box to check the image settings.

Changing Colors
Software: Photoshop 6.0
Level : Beginners
Concept: In the following lesson we are going to change the color of the garment with different types
of retouching commands provided by Adobe Photoshop. These commands will take you to the
advance photo retouching after proper practice. You need to select proper tool out of the available
selection tools. Proper selection is the basic requirement for any photo retouching job where the
precise selection is essential. 1. Open an image. Select the shirt with magic wand tool (Press Shift and

Lesson: 4 – Enhancement
Enhancement
Software: Photoshop 7.0
Level: Intermediate
Concept: The is the simple most type of image enhancement using layer blending mode of Adobe
Photoshop. We have used overlay mode to turn simple pale looking photograph into a vibrant
enhanced image. You can experiment with different layer blending modes. You need to control the
degree of blending to control the enhancement because it may look too fancy and unnatural if there is
a lot of glow and light into it. 1. Open Photoshop. Open an image to try retouching commands.

Adding Glow
Software: Photoshop 7.0
Level: Intermediate
Concept: Adding glow is one of the simplest lessons designed using Adobe Photoshop and its image
retouching tools. Its a normal image and we are going to add the glow to it. Please make a note that
this is not regular photo retouching job where you need to give maximum realistic output. Adding
glow is adding effect to the image. With the simple layer blending mode we have added glow to the
image and made the difference.

Concept: Adding luster to the image is like like some special effect. It should not be considered as a
regular photo retouching where we try to make a photo more realistic. In this lesson, its up to the user
to decide the degree of the fantasy he or she wish to add to the image. Adobe Photoshop comes up
with lots of filters and there are countless numbers of third party filters that can be installed in
photoshop and used for special effects.
