least) and 1 newspaper, following the advertising activities of each,
counting and analyzing why those brands appear. What do you find out?
● Television: VTV channel
Advertising activities:
- Advertising mainly focuses on consumer products such as milk,
shampoo, shower gel, instant noodles, as well as mobile services.
- These brands appear because the audience of this channel is
usually families and ordinary consumers. Everyday items such as
food, -care products, household items are essential products that
suit the needs of the majority of the audience.
- During the 2-hour period, there were about 84 advertisements
appearing with very familiar brands about daily consumer
products. Each advertisement usually lasts from 10-15 seconds,
with advertisements introducing new products that usually last a
little longer.
Find out:
- For TV channels, commercials typically appear around 15-20 minutes
after the start of a program. Normally, ads are aired during intense or
dramatic segments of the program. The purpose of placing commercials
during these moments is to retain viewers. If commercials were shown
during ordinary segments, the likelihood of viewers leaving would be
higher compared to inserting them during peak moments.
● Radio : VOV Traffic
Advertising activities:
- Advertising focuses on motorbikes, cars, real estate and financial
services.
- VOV Traffic channel attracts listeners who often travel by car. This
is a group of people with higher financial capacity and demand for
real estate, financial services and means of transportation.
- VOV Traffic listeners are usually adults, have stable jobs and good
incomes. This is the ideal customer group for high-end products
and services such as real estate, cars and financial products.
- VOV Traffic is a channel that provides continuous traffic
information, helping listeners grasp the traffic situation and avoid
traffic jams. Advertisements about cars, motorbikes or financial
services related to buying a car are very suitable for the content and
needs of listeners.
Find Out:
For Radio, advertising is in two forms: spot advertising, which usually
appears for about 15-30 seconds between programs being broadcast, and
sponsored advertising, which will have a longer duration of 30-60
seconds, broadcast before, during or after a program.
● Báo : Báo Tuổi trẻ
Advertising activities:
- Advertising focuses on technology, tourism and education
products. Tuoi Tre Newspaper has a large and diverse readership,
including many social classes from students, working people,
businessmen and experts. This is a suitable target group for brands
such as FPT, Cho Lon Electronics Supermarket, tourism brands
and universities. In addition, Tuoi Tre Newspaper often has many
articles about education, technology and life, so the advertisements
of these brands will easily attract the attention of readers interested
in these areas.
Find out:
- Tuoi Tre Newspaper website, the duration of the advertisement will not
be limited, the blank spaces (left or right of the article) will be filled with
advertisements. Although not obscuring the content of the article, the
advertisements that appear also make the reader pay attention to the
advertisements. Besides the usual advertisements, there is also a form of
sponsored advertising. These advertisements are not simply provincial
banners but they are short TVCs that cannot be skipped within 5-15
seconds, these advertisements will make the reader pay more attention
than the usual banner ads.

Yes of course, I am just like a normal person so I also use Facebook. I mainly
use Facebook for entertaining things like surfing new feeds, watching
livestream, watching reel or short video.

After the interview, 70% of the interviewees used Facebook for entertainment
purposes, 10% used Facebook to surf the new feed, 10% used Facebook to
watch livestreams, and the remaining 10% used Facebook to chat with friends.
One of the local brands that I know that uses Facebook is Bitis. They often use
Facebook to post articles about their promotions, introduce new products,
Livestream sales as well as create mini-games, create community programs to
attract new customers as well as retain old customers.
One of the international companies I know that uses Facebook is Samsung.
They often use Facebook to launch teasers of new products to attract consumers'
attention, introduce existing products, introduce ongoing promotions or
sometimes they will create mini-games.
Q3: What do you typically do during commercials on television? What
percentage of the time do you watch commercials? What makes you
watch? Ask these same questions of 10 other people. What type of activities
do people engage in during commercials?
When I go to a TV commercial I usually do other things such as
- Use my mobile phone/tablet
- Go to the toilet
- Get food and drinks
- Talk
- Change the channel to watch another show
I usually don't spend too much time watching ads, if converted into percentage,
my time watching ads is less than 10% of the total time of the ads being shown,
usually I will do other things and only occasionally check to see if the ad is over
to continue watching TV. Only in special cases such as when there is a celebrity
in the ad that I am really interested in, I will pay attention and watch.

After conducting the survey, it was found that out of 10 people interviewed,
only one person stays and watches commercials because they believe they
can catch new or upcoming products. The other 9 individuals engage in
various activities during commercials such as using their phones, grabbing
snacks and drinks, doing household chores, or even switching channels and
returning after the commercials are over.

After interviewing 10 people, it was found that very few of them dedicate
time to watching advertisements. Most participants engage in other
activities during commercials. Only 3 out of the 10 interviewees stated that
they watch more than 50% of the total advertising time.

After conducting the survey, the reasons why they stay and watch include
their idols participating in the advertisement, advertisements featuring
products they are genuinely interested in, promotions or discounts being
offered, and visually appealing and creative imagery that captures their
interest and attention.
