Department: Trading Analytics
Location: Cannon Street, London

Job Type: 2-year Fixed Term Contract
Salary: £24,750
Apprenticeship: Investment Operations Apprenticeship | Courses | BPP
Introduction
At Fidelity International, we see our apprentices as a vital part of our business. We’ll give you the support and training you need to
succeed, whilst gaining a qualification. In return, you’ll help us deliver world class services and become highly knowledgeable about our
business.
What you’ll be doing:
We don’t expect you to come straight in and know everything about what we do. Whatever you’ve studied, we’ll help make sure you get
the most out of your time with us.
Trading Analytics is a data science team, providing quantitative analysis to traders, fund managers and other investment professionals,
covering all asset classes Fidelity trades (Fixed Income, Equity, Derivatives, FX, Private Assets). Although based in London, you will
work with members of our global investment team, including our trading desks in Hong Kong, Singapore, London, Dublin and Toronto.
Key to our strategy is the wealth of historical trading data we’ve collected, which we can leverage to deliver visualisations and insights
that inform how we might trade in the future. Trading data is large in size, so to be ultimately successful in the role, the candidate would
need to develop quantitative data-related skills (such as python, SQL, Power BI, Excel) in conjunction with an understanding of the
markets we invest in and the order lifecycle as it relates to trading.
As a member of the investment management group, you have opportunities to learn from others about Fidelity’s investment process
and you will speak to traders, risk analysts, quantitative analysts and fund managers as part of your role. The team will commit time to
build up your knowledge of Fidelity’s data, trading process and analytical workflows, and you will support the team in its daily
operations, answering queries relating to our trading data and helping to build analytical tools for the investment team.
What we look for:
We’re looking for people that are interested in both the industry and the sector but ultimately those that are looking for a career which
will reward them in both job satisfaction and development. During your apprenticeship, you will gain important insights and skills which
will prepare you well for your future career, as well as learning from some of the best in the industry.
The successful candidate will be working alongside experienced data scientists in the trading analytics team, helping to deliver value-
add analytical content to traders, fund managers, brokers and clients. A key focus of the role is transaction cost analysis (TCA), which
is a core component of Fidelity’s approach to achieving best execution and ultimately delivering fund performance for clients. The
successful candidate should have an interest in financial markets, a strong desire to learn and a keen eye for data given the
quantitative nature of the role.
A large part of the role is working with data - to collect, store, query, summarise, visualise and communicate data to support the firm’s
objectives that relate to trading. The successful candidate should be interested in data and adept at problem solving.
We welcome applications from students from all educational backgrounds. If you’re inquisitive and ambitious, an
apprenticeship at Fidelity could be a great opportunity for you.
As a minimum requirement you’ll need to:
• Be available to join us in September 2024
• A-level maths qualification
• Interest in data analysis and coding is essential, any experience in these areas is desirable
• You can demonstrate attention to detail
• You have an interest in financial markets and are committed to achieving the IMC qualification as part of your
apprenticeship

• You have strong communication skills (verbal, written & data visualisation)
Our clients come from all walks of life and so do we. We are proud of our inclusive culture and encourage applications from the widest
mix of talent, whatever your age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, social background and more.
As a flexible employer, we trust our people to perform their role in the way that works best for them, our clients and our business. We
are a disability-friendly company and would welcome a conversation with you if you feel you might benefit from any reasonable
adjustments to perform to the best of your ability during the recruitment process and beyond.
Training and Development
You’ll start your apprenticeship with a mini induction, during which we’ll introduce you to investment management and how it fits into
the City. After that, there are many more ways to develop your skills as your apprenticeship progresses.
At every stage, your development will be underpinned by the best apprenticeship training and professional certified courses.
Unlike other firms that hire on a volume basis, we take on a select number of apprentices. You will be highly valued here, so your
development is heavily invested in from day one.
Social and networking events will help you get to know our people and culture. All the while you’ll be learning on the job, working to
clear goals and understanding your own potential.
Future Opportunities
During your time with us you’ll get to learn even more about what you enjoy, what you’re great at, and how to develop the career path
that’s perfect for you. Our apprenticeship programmes may even lead to full-time opportunities if that’s what you’re looking for.
How to Apply
Please submit your application and complete all your assessments by Friday 12th July at 11.55pm
Assessment centres are expected to start in July 2024.
