DBA Administrator - Presight
Position Overview:
As a Database Administrator (DBA) specializing in AI, you will play a crucial role in
managing, optimizing, and securing databases that support various artificial intelligence (AI)
applications and systems. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and
maintaining database architectures tailored to the unique requirements of AI projects. You
will collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure
seamless integration of databases with AI algorithms and applications.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Database Design and Implementation:
- Design and implement database architectures optimized for AI applications, considering
factors such as data volume, variety, and velocity.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to understand data requirements and
develop efficient database schemas.
2. Database Optimization and Performance Tuning:
- Monitor database performance and proactively identify and address performance
bottlenecks.
- Optimize database queries and indexes to improve query performance and reduce latency.
- Implement caching mechanisms and data partitioning strategies to enhance database
scalability.
3. Data Security and Compliance:
- Establish and enforce data security policies and access controls to protect sensitive AI
data.
- Implement encryption mechanisms to safeguard data both at rest and in transit.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, or industry-
specific standards.

4. Backup and Recovery:
- Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery procedures to minimize data loss and
downtime.
- Conduct periodic backups and perform regular disaster recovery drills to validate backup
integrity.
5. Database Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Monitor database health and proactively identify and address issues such as disk space
shortages or database corruption.
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as software upgrades, patching, and
database reorganizations.
- Automate repetitive tasks using scripting or automation tools to streamline database
management processes.
6. Collaboration and Documentation:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, and business
stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide database support.
- Document database architectures, configurations, and procedures to facilitate knowledge
sharing and troubleshooting.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Masters degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Advanced
degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified:
Azure Database Administrator Associate) preferred.
- Proven 8-10 years of experience as a database administrator
- Proficiency in database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, IBM
DB2, Postgres SQL
- Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization techniques, and indexing
strategies.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Knowledge of data security best practices and compliance requirements.

- This job role requires traveling to international client locations 30 – 50 % of the time &
