SEARCH ENGINE
• A search engine is software accessed on the internet that searches
a database of information according to the user’s query.
• The engine provides a list of results that best match what the user is
trying to find.
• Search engines are used to access information on the World Wide
Web.
• commonly used internet search engine are google and yahoo.
WEB DEVELOPMENT
• Web development is the act of building, creating and maintaining
websites.
• The field encompasses a broad range of tasks including everything
from coding, to technical design, to the
performance of a website or application
running on the internet.
• Web development consists of front-end
and back-end components:
• Front-end development.
• Back-end development.
FRONT-END WEB DEVELOPMENT
• Front-end development is responsible for the aspects of a website
that users see and interact with: The user interface (UI).
• Front-end developers are well in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, often
working closely with design and UX teams to capture both the
intended look and feel of the site, while also creating a quality user
experience across multiple device types.
BACK-END WEB DEVELOPMENT
• Back-end development is responsible for all the aspects of a website
that users do not see. The technologies they used are PHP, SQL etc.
• This is also known as server-side development because back-end
developers focus primarily on the behind-the-scenes logic, APIs and
database interactions that power the site.
ROLES IN WEB SITE DEVELOPMENT TEAM
• Here are some of the most common roles in a web development
team.
• Project manager
• UI/UX designer
• Front-end developer
• Back-end developer
• The Quality Tester
PROJECT MANAGER
• The digital project manager provides focus for the team on their
various projects, and they help to keep it moving along on schedule.
• They manage the budget, take care of planning, and ensure the team
is staffed with the best talent.
UI/UX DESIGNER
• UX/UI designers are like the ‘new kids on the block’ of the web dev
team. They’ve got one aim: to ensure visitors have a swell user
experience while navigating the site.
• UX/UI designers collapse two different skills (UX and UI design) into
one and specialize in creating engaging interfaces for users.
• They’re the web dev team’s version of a graphic designer, but in this
case, the goal is to design the website’s look using images, logos,
color schemes, animation, fonts, and more.
FRONT-END DEVELOPER
• The front-end developer takes care of the “frontend” or “client side”:
once the page is shown in the browser, it still requires layout to look
nice.
• In order to do this, the developer writes
CSS and HTML to tell the browser how
to visually display the page.
• The front-end developer also writes
JavaScript, which is used to create
visual animations.
BACK-END DEVELOPER
• While front-end developers are making life easy for web users, back-
end developers are building data infrastructure for the website,
ensuring the server side is secure.
• In addition, they build web structures and compliance features, write
programs (codes), and test those programs to ensure no bugs.
THE QUALITY TESTER
• A Quality tester is someone who works with software or a website to
ensure it runs properly. They try to prevent faulty apps or other
technology from getting to the customer.
• Quality testers accomplish this by running a variety
of manual and automated tests while the product is
in development. The goal is to try and break the
product or force it to malfunction.
• This empowers developers with the knowledge they
need to make product adjustments before it goes to market.
SCOPE OF WEB DEVELOPMENT IN 2023-24
• There are numerous web developer jobs available in the market
for those with the requisite skills.
• Almost every industry uses web development for their business:
• Entertainment.
• Education.
• Banking and Insurance.
• Advertisement Agencies.
• Hospitality.
• Travel.
• Professionals etc.
