How To
Navigate
The Holy
Scriptures
Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing
the scriptures, nor the power of God.
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures,
which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through
faith which is in Christ Jesus.
1
1. The Spirit of Truth - will guide you into all Truth
2. Five-Fold Ministry (Pray that God send laborers, count them for double
honor)
3. Keep a pure heart (The Pure in heart will see God)
4. Hunger and thirst after Righteousness (New born babies, desire the
sincere milk of the word of God)
5. Feed my Sheep - sit under the ministration of Pastors and Teachers of
the Word.
6. Quench not the Spirit (Obey the impulse of Life in your Spirit as it is
witnessed by one or two Scriptures which are rooted in the Life and/or
doctrine of Christ. My sheep hear my voice and they follow -
recognition of the voice of the shepherd)
2
7. The Scriptures Point to me (The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of
Prophecy. All that has been written of me in the Law, the prophets
and the psalms). Christ is the fulfilment if old testament prophecies
and the foundation as well as central theme of New testament epistles
and revelations. If any man/angel brings another gospel, let him be
accursed. Follower of me as I am of Christ. Take heed that ye be not
deceived
8. In the mouth of two or three witnesses every word is established (No
scripture is of private interpretation. Comparing spiritual things with
spiritual - let every word have a witness in at least two or three other
scriptures which find their fulfilment in the Doctrine or revelation of
Christ)
9. Man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that proceeds out
of the mouth of God (All scriptures - NOT SOME but ALL - is given by
3
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness)
10. Walk by the Spirit (The Letter killeth, the Spirit gives life)
11. We have a surer word of prophecy… (It Is Written, The Scriptures
CANNOT be broken, he expounded to them the scriptures)
4
The Spirit Of Truth
Without the Spirit of Truth, no one can understand the Scriptures. The
Lord sent him to guide us into all aspects of the testimony of the
Scriptures.
These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my
name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:25-26
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:
for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he
speak: and he will show you things to come.
He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore, said I, that he shall take of
mine, and shall shew it unto you.
John 16:13-15
But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
1 John 2:20

The Five-Fold Ministry
Little babies cannot process strong meat. They need their mothers to eat
it, break it down inside their bodies and present it to them as milk -
processed food. The Five-fold ministry is given to help us in this regard.
The Lord commanded us to pray the father to send us laborers. This
means we need to seek for God given teachers of the word who can by
the Spirit of God explain the scriptures to us like Philip did to the
Ethiopian eunuch or like Pricilla and Aquilas did to Apollos
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and
some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the
body of Christ:
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and for, and carried about
with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness,
whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the
head, even Christ:
6
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which
every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every
part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Eph 4:11-16
7
Keep A Pure Heart
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
(Matt 5:8)
Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD?
or who shall stand in his holy place?
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart;
who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity,
nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing from the LORD,
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
(Psalm 24:3-5)
A pure heart
Mark 4:18-19
And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And
the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other
things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
A pure heart is a heart free of:
1. The care of this world - being anxious about this life, or as the Lord
put it, taking thought due to fear for tomorrow. “…For after all
these things do the Gentiles (the World seek…” Read carefully Mat
6:24-34
2. The deceitfulness of material possessions
3. The desire for vain pleasures
8
Hunger and Thirst
After Righteousness
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow
thereby.
1 Peter 2:2
Desire the understanding of God.
How to desire
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly
pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that
he had, and bought it.
Matthew 13:45
He desired the pearl after he saw it. We need to see and behold anything
to cultivate desire for it.
To desire God and consequently his word, we must See him and behold
or consider in our hearts, his glory (what the scriptures say about him).
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should
be called the sons of God: therefore, the world knoweth us not, because it knew
him not.
1 John 3:1
9
Feed My Sheep
Sit under the grace and ministration of Pastors and Teachers of
the Word.
10
Quench not the Spirit
Recognize of the voice of the shepherd
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me”
John 10:27
And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the
day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God
amongst the trees of the garden.
Genesis 3:8
But the LORD is in his holy temple:
let all the earth keep silence before him.
Habakkuk 2:20
And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the
LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.
[2] And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes
began to wax dim, that he could not see;
[3] And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God
was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep ;
[4] That the Lord called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.
[5] And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou called me. And he said, I called
not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.
11
[6] And the Lord called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and
said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie
down again.
[7] Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the word of the Lord yet
revealed unto him.
[8] And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and
said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the Lord had called the
child.
[9] Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that
thou shalt say, Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in
his place.
[10] And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel.
Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.
1 Samuel 3:1-10 KJV
And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to
the ground.
And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a
prophet of the LORD.
And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in
Shiloh by the word of the LORD.
1 Samuel 3:19-21
He knew the Voice of God in and through the Word of God
12
The voice of the Lord speaks to our hearts in union with the Word of
God. The Word of God bears witness to the voice of the Lord within our
hearts. We must pay attention to the Voice of the Scriptures - The Spirit
Of Truth.
13
The Scriptures Point
To Me
Revelation 19:10
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I
am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus:
worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
The central point of the entire Scripture is to simply and
singularly bear witness of Christ. Seeking for any other subject
in the Holy Scriptures opens the door to the deception of the
devil.
Luke 24:44
And he said unto them, these are the words which I spake unto you, while I was
yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of
Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Luke 24:27
And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the
scriptures the things concerning himself.
Christ is the fulfilment of old testament prophecies and the
foundation as well as central theme of New testament epistles
and revelations.
14
Galatians 1:6-9
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of
Christ unto another gospel:
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the
gospel of Christ.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than
that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preaches any other gospel unto
you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
The Doctrine of Christ is the message of Scripture. In other
words, the ultimate context of the scriptures is the revelation of
Christ. And just like the tempter took the words of scriptures
out of the context or spirit of scripture when he tempted the
Lord, he will attempt to distract from Christ by pointing us to
subject matter in the Scriptures that are not the Spirit of
Scriptures, which is the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
15
In the mouth of two or
three witnesses, every
word is established
2 Peter 1:19
We have also a surer word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed,
as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star
arise in your hearts:
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private
interpretation.
Matthew 18:16
“…that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.”
Scriptures are the testimonies of multiple witnesses who lived
across different times, locations, and cultures, through whom
the Spirit of Truth bore witness of the Christ, both in
Prophecies (Old Testament) and Revelations (New Testament).
As such, scriptures work under that same rule of witnessing
given by the Prophets of Old, established by The Lord Jesus
Christ and implemented by his Apostles: That every point
made MUST be at the junction of at least two or three
witnesses, and this point MUST be a Testimony of Jesus Christ,
16
and it MUST be verified in his Doctrine (His nature, earthly
life/ministry, and teachings/preaching).
Comparing spiritual things with spiritual
Let every word have a witness in at least two or three other scriptures which
find their fulfilment in the Doctrine (Nature, Words and Deeds) of Jesus
Christ
17
All Scriptures
Man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that proceeds out of the
mouth of God
All scriptures - NOT SOME but ALL - is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness)
Every word of scripture concerning any matter MUST be
considered if we want to remain in the safety of God’s Light on
the matter.
The Lord’s victory over the Devil was based on this principle.
He knew all the scriptures concerning tempting God, and
hence was able to discern the devils lies.
18
Walk by the Spirit
The Letter killeth, the Spirit gives life;
Pay attention to the spirit of scriptures and not the letters.
The Jews knew the letters of the law yet could not discern that
all the scriptures sum up to just one commandment - Love
19
We have a surer
word of prophecy
John 10:35
If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture
cannot be broken;
Matthew 5:18
For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall
in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
2 Peter 1:16
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known
unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were
eyewitnesses of his majesty.
For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a
voice to him from the excellent glory, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am
well pleased.
And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in
the holy mount.
We have also a surer word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take
heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the
day star arise in your hearts:
The Apostle Peter just set the scriptures on a far higher
authority than the vision of the Mount of Transfiguration. He
says the scriptures are even Surer than that vision that was
even witnessed by three individuals.
The Scriptures have the final say on any matter.
