How to Map Network Drive
1. Click Windows Button + R and type \\192.168.10.6 then click Okay
Type \\192.168.10.6
Click Ok
2. Find the CaseWare folder and right-click then choose Map network drive

3. This the default setup in mapping the network folder. Just click Finish
Click Finish
4. You have now successfully Mapped the network drive. The Network folder CaseWare (\\
192.168.10.6)(Z:) will show

*Note: The other way to check the network folder is click This PC it will show the Devices and Drives and
Network locations. This is where the caseware data files will store. The authorized person will be the
one who edit, create and delete files from here.

Guide on how to create new files in CaseWare Working Papers application
1. Open the CaseWare Working Papers application
2. Click New
3. Input the New file name. ex: “Testfile1”
4. Click the path to change the location of the folder to be created.
Note: This will be the parent folder. Only authorized person will be the one who will create a
new file.

5. After clicking the path, Choose the Map Network Drive CaseWare (\\192.168.10.6)(Z:)

6. As you can see, the file will create in folder Z:\

network drive: Caseware (192.168.10.6) (Z:)
7. After this setup, Click CHIAT 22.00v10.1 and wait to create file

then choose create file
8. Loading files… please wait.
9. For the unlicensed users just fill up the form and click okay.
Fill the form and click
OK
10. Engagement Profile Selector
This wizard assists you in selecting the preliminary engagement profile required to start our
Engagement.
Click OK

11. You have now successfully created a file.
Next is to have a Synchronized copy of the parent folder.
The users will open the parent folder in the map network drive and will create a synchronized copy so
that they can work offline and update the parent folder once they came back to office or connected to
the network using VPN connection.
1. Open the CaseWare Working Papers application
2. Click Open
3. Choose Computer Click Open
4. Click Browse… Choose Computer
Click Browse…
5. Click the Map Network Drive: CaseWare(192.168.10.6) ( Z: )
6. Choose Testfile1.ac
7. Check the box Create a Synchronized Copy in the local drive
8. Click Open

Wait until it finished..
This shows the synchronized copy of the parent file. You can now work and edit the files online and it
will update the parent file.

online / connected to the
network and the file you
open has synchronized
copy
This shows that you are working offline and the file will save locally. You can work and edit the files
offline and it will update the parent file once you are in the office or connected to the network through
VPN.
This shows that you are
offline / not connected to
the network.
