Modem – A modem is a network device that encodes and decodes digital
information for processing by modulating and demodulating analogue
carrier signals, also known as sine waves.
NIC – a network interface card is a hardware component, usually a chip or
circuit board, that allows the computer to connect to a network.
What is the difference between a Hub and a Switch? - A hub is a
networking device that connects multiple PCs to a single network,
whereas a Switch connects multiple devices on a single computer
network.
Router – a router is a hardware device that has 2 main uses, managing
traffic between devices connected to the same network by using their Ips
to send them the correct data packets and allowing multiple devices to
use the same internet connection.
Repeater - In computer networks, repeaters are used to increase the
network's coverage area, replicate a weak or damaged signal, and/or
support remote nodes.
What types of services can a Server provide? – The main services of a
server are storing, sending and receiving data. there are different kinds of
servers such as an email server like Gmail saving your emails online.
What is a difference between a Laptop and a Workstation? - In general, a
workstation is made to carry out demanding tasks including rendering, 3D
animation, CAD, data processing, and video editing. On the other hand, a
laptop is typically sufficient for less resource-demanding chores like online
browsing, email checking, and document typing.
