Telnet configuration in Cisco packet tracer:

Step-by-Step Configuration:

1. Open Packet Tracer


2. Add Devices:
- Router (e.g., Router0)
- PCs (e.g., PC0 and PC1)
3. Connect a PC to the router or switch using a copper straight-through cable. Make
sure the devices are connected to the correct interfaces (e.g., PC to
FastEthernet0/0 on the router).
4. IP Address Configuration:
- Router Interface: Assign IP addresses to the router's FastEthernet interfaces.
- PCs: Assign IP addresses and default gateways
5. Configuration Details
Router Interface and IP Address Configuration:
Router FastEthernet0/0: 192.168.1.1/24
PC0: 192.168.1.2/24, Gateway: 192.168.1.1
PC1: 192.168.1.3/24, Gateway: 192.168.1.1
6. Test Connectivity:

Ping the router's interface from each PC to ensure connectivity.


PC Command Prompt:
C:\> ping 192.168.1.1

7. Router CLI Commands:


Router> enable
Router# configure terminal
Router(config)# hostname sajeena
sajeena(config)# interface FastEthernet0/0
sajeena(config-if)# ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
sajeena(config-if)# no shutdown
sajeena(config-if)# exit
sajeena(config)# enable password cisco123
sajeena(config)# ip domain-name mydomain.com
sajeena(config)# username admin privilege 15 password admin123
sajeena(config)# line vty 0 4
sajeena(config-line)# login local
sajeena(config-line)# transport input telnet
sajeena(config-line)# exit
sajeena(config)# exit
sajeena# write memory
