▪ Data science
▪ Computer Vision
▪ NLP
Data Science is a domain of AI that processes the given data to find solution or predict the outcomes for a problem
statement. This type of data that can used is numeric and alphanumeric

Types of Data
(i) Structured data: Any data that can be stored, accessed or processed in the form of a fixed format is termed as
structured data.
Ex.Attendance Register book
(ii) Unstructured data: Any data through its unknown form or representation is classified as unstructured data
Ex. Google search
(iii) Semi structured data: It is a data source that can contain both forms of data
Price comparison websites

Applications of Data science

i) Recommendations: Data science is implemented in e-commerce websites like Amazon and Flipkart.
ii) Price Predicting websites: Data science is used in predicting the price of products or services based on
customer’s demand , seasonal trends, prices of competitive market and many other factors in almost
everywhere like technology, hospitality, automobiles, apparels etc. Price Grabber, Price Runner, DealTime
iii) Weather forecasting: AI uses data sciences to predict the weather monitoring the hail, tornodoes, tsunami with
greater precision. Satellite imagery and AI is used to predict how different factors are used to affect climate
change.

Computer vision : Computer vision is the domain of AI that makes a computer analyze and understand an image or a
video by collection information from pixels. It focuses on developing techniques that do millions of calculations in order
to recognize patterns and have the same accuracy as the human eye and the content of digital images as desired
output.

Acquiring Image-> Processing images->Analysing images-> Understanding images

Applications:
Object classifications: Google lens is an application with google that can be used to identify any image by clicking a
picture from the real world. It uses the concept of object detection by identifying an object in images.

Categorization of photos in your phone: Smart phone uses CV to categorize the photos on your phones under
different categories.

Face Lock : in smartphones comes with new security system of using face recognition to lock or unlock the devices

Self driving cars :CV us used in self driving cars to recognize lamp post and to tell the difference between pedestrian
and stop signs

Unusual behaviour: CV is used to identify the faces in CCTV footage and also in real time at air ports to help identify
and track unusual activities or behaviour.

Natural language processing: is the domain of AI where a machine uses algorithms to understand, analyze and
interact with humans using natural language.

The type of data that can be used by NLP are text and speech

Applications:
Autocorrect Features: Google has the feature of auto sentence completion, where it uses AI to predict the next word
to complete the sentence.

Plagiarism checker: To search through the web and find any cases of published documents that may match your work
line by line and intimate you for the same.
Email Filters: Gmail accounts are categorized under three heads Primary, Social and Promotions. It uses NLP to
identify certain phrases from the mails and categorize them

Chatbots: To communicate with humans using text and speech

AI Ethics: Ethics is a set of moral principles which help us concern between right and wrong. AI ethics is a set of
guidelines that advise on the design and outcomes of AI.

Data Privacy: We need to understand that the data which is collected by various applications is ethical as the users
agree to it, but at the same time if one does not want to share his /her data with anyone, he/she can opt for alternative
applications which are of similar usage and keep your data private.

AI Bias : Another aspect of AI Ethics is bias. Everyone has bias of their own no matter how much one tries to be
unbiased. Any bias can transfer from the developer to the machine while the algorithm is being developed.

AI Access: Access and inclusion in technological fields can be broadly defined as the availability of technology and its
benefits to all irrespective of their social, economic, educational , geographical and any other status barriers
