Parts of the Body
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:
● Identify and name major parts of the body.
● Appreciate the importance of each body part and understand ways to care for
them.
● Describe the basic functions of each body part.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
Topic: Parts of the Body
References: Enriching Language Experience for Schoolers
Author: Ana Nelia S. Lopez-Jumamil, Ph.D. ( Pages 116-120 )
Materials:
● Large body chart showing all parts of the body
● Picture of body parts (e.g., eyes, ears, hands, feet, etc.)
● Puzzle pieces for the body (for group activity)
● Reward stickers or stars
● Laptop, Speaker, and Projector/TV
Concept: Our body is made up of many parts, each with its own important function.
Skills: Observation, Identification, Matching, Teamwork
Values: Respect for one's body, teamwork, and appreciation for personal health
III. PROCEDURE

1. Opening Prayer

Everybody please stand up.

First, I’d like all the boys to raise your

4. Classroom Rules

Before we begin, let’s go over our rules:

us about the different sounds of animals.
If you remember, can you tell me what
sound a cat makes? Meow, meow!

Great job! How about a frog? Ribbit, ribbit! / Kokak, kokak!

How about a duck? Quack, quack!

And lastly, what sound does a dog make? Arf, arf! / Woof, woof!

body part it is.

parts of the body, and we'll also talk about
how each part is used!

D. Lesson Proper

So now, let’s proceed to our lesson for


today.

Our lesson for today is all about Parts of


the Body.

Let’s go through each part of our body


and talk about what it does.

(Points to head) This is our head. It holds


our brain, which helps us think!

Can you show me where our head is? (Touch their heads) This is my head!

Very good!

(Points to eyes) These are our eyes. We


use them to see everything around us.

Can you show me where our eyes are? (Point to their eyes) These are my eyes!

Good Job!

(Points to ears) These are our ears. We


use them to hear sounds, like music and
people talking.

Can you show me where our ears are? (Touch their ears) These are my ears!

Great job!
(Repeat the process of pointing to each
body part and discussing its function)

(Points to nose) This is our nose. We use (Touch their nose) This is my nose!
it to smell things, like flowers and food.

This is our mouth, where we have our


tongue and teeth. We use our mouths to
eat, talk, and smile. Our tongue helps us
taste, and our teeth help us chew food. (Open their mouths) This is my mouth!

Our hands and fingers help us hold These are my hands and fingers!

Okay, Let’s check if you really understand

Here’s a big outline of a body. I’ll hand
you a picture card, and I want you to stick
it on the right spot and tell us what it is
and what it does.
Understand? Yes, Teacher Lee!

If you understand, can you clap four (The learner clapped three times to show
times? that they're ready!

“Very good!” (Take turns placing body part pictures on


the body outline) "This is the arm; we use
it to hold things."

F. Application

So now we’re going to have a group


activity.

Let’s split into two groups: Each group


has puzzle pieces to assemble body parts.
The first group to finish will get 2 stars
each, and the second group will get 1 star
each.

But before that let’s read the rubrics and


the things to remember first.

assistance.
