Students will learn about the basic physics of electric charge, Cognitive, PLO1
conductors, insulators, Coulomb’s law, quantization and One High
conservation of charge, electric field, the electric field due to a point
charge, electric dipole, line of charge and charged disk. Students
will study about flux of an electric field, Gauss’ law, and its
application of Gauss’ Law: cylindrical symmetry, planar symmetry,

spherical symmetry.
CLO1 Students will have comprehensive study about magnetic field,
crossed fields, the Hall effect, a circulating charged particle,
cyclotron and synchrotrons, magnetic force on a current-carrying
wire.
The will also acquire the knowledge about polarization, reflection,
refraction, total internal reflection, polarization by reflection, nature
of light, diffraction, Young’s interference experiment, coherence,
intensity in double-slit Interference and interference from thin films.
In this section student will learn about transverse and Longitudinal Cognitive, PLO1
Waves, speed of a traveling wave, wave speed on a stretched One High
string, energy and power of a wave traveling along a string, the
wave equation, the principle of superposition for waves,
interference of Waves, phasors, standing waves, standing waves
and resonance, sound waves, the speed of sound, traveling sound
waves, the Doppler effect.
CLO2 They will also get the knowledge about quantum of light, the
Photoelectric effect, momentum of photons, light as a probability
wave, electrons and matter waves.
Student will learn about the electrical properties of solids, energy
levels in a crystalline solid, insulators, metals, semiconductors,
doped semiconductors, the p-n junction.
Students will also get familiar with discovering the nucleus and its
properties, radioactive decay, alpha decay, beta decay and
measuring radiation dosage.

Edition.
