Introduction
This information guide outlines the recognition of Pearson’s Edexcel Qualifications by
Government Agencies, Colleges and Universities in India. Pearson’s Edexcel GCSE,
International GCSE , GCE / Advanced level and International Advanced Level Qualifications have
long been approved by the Association of Indian Universities as offering qualifications equivalent
to those offered by State and Central boards in India, vide letter no. EV/II(281)/2008/508. The
Ministry of Human Resources Department, Government of India has recognised the GCE and
IGCSE qualifications by University of London now known as Pearson via. Department of Sec-
ondary Education and Higher Education letter No. F22-1/2001-U.3 dated 12th January 2002.
Pearson is also an Associate Member of Council of Boards of School Education in India(COB-
SE), vide letter no COBSE/C.280/2011.
