0. Aarakocra hit squad looking to eliminate Thoth.
▪ Gale Shadowclaw ordered the hit to cement his place as rightful
leader Thoth threatens this rein because he knows the truth that
Gale orchestrated the monarch’s death not Thoth.
▪ led by General Zalla Acal, a former leader of the royal guard Thoth
was a part of.
▪ Zalla currently has the Aeroshade convinced he will lead Thoth into
a trap by convincing him he will help betray them, but the plan is a
double cross on the Aeroshade all apart of Anara’s plan.
▪ Anara wishes to build a rebellion, after Zalla assists the characters
with betraying the kill squad, he will request something personal
from Thoth to signify his death to keep him hidden from Gale while
the rebellion builds. (Feathers, Talons)
i. Rinad comes across an abandoned wagon of perfectly identical gems!
(50,000gp)
● (Deck of Many Things) If sold in large quantities the gems are seen
as counterfeit gems due to there identical nature.
● (Heralds of the Comet) Approach Rinad to question how he
acquired these gems.
● (Hag’s Doll) “Dearie those are mine!”
ii. Characters see posters of the Preliminary Trials for the Magic Games
starting in two days.
▪ These posters are the rules and prize posters presented by the
Academy of Magic, hosted within Baldur’s Gate.
iii. Characters are commissioned by Leosin to accompany him to Baldur’s
Gate.
▪ Leosin believes the characters may be able to intercept the cult
before they get lost within the sword coast.
0. Baldur’s Gate
i. Characters spot posters of the current highest scoring player at the
Preliminary Trials of the Magic Games Ignatius Darkbane
▪ Academy of Magic hosts the Magic Games, grand prize is admission
to the academy next Eleasis (August).
▪ Panel of Judges Archmage, Grand Enchanter, High Evoker, Master
Alchemist, Loremaster, Keeper of Artifacts. (Creativity > Magical
Prowess)
▪ Ignatius has goals of becoming the archmage of the academy which
begins with admission and with acquiring the staff of the magi.
▪ When confronted about the flute, Ignatius claims he didn’t have the
flute in his possession for long, cult members assaulted Ignatius
and pillaged his belongings along with the flute.
▪ Just an idea but I like the idea of a feywild game where it’s like
hunger games for mages, you forget all known spells and on the
open battlefield you will find spell books along the way to battle to
the top.
ii. Characters sign up for the preliminary trials.

▪ Material scavenger hunt through baldurs gate, scrying magic will
be used on contestants to ensure no cheating! Materials can be
gained by any means but purchasing them with common currency!
v. Round 3 of the preliminary trials (Dueling)
▪ Contestants stand upon 20ft diameter pillars spaced about 100 ft
away from each other.

vii. Characters are tasked by Leosin to join the cultist’s bound caravan.
▪ Characters are explicitly advised against creating conflict with the
cult, they are merely learning where they are going to and with
what.

0. Jamna Gleamsilver joins the caravan along with Azbara Jos.
▪ Gleamsilver is a part of the Zhentarim group taking over
Nightstone but along the way spies on the cult.
0. Unwanted Attention
▪ Characters notice Gleamsilver taking a special interest in Azbara
Jos and in them and are aware of their interest in her.

▪ Cultists recognize characters and begin to watch their habits until
eventually attempting to assassinate them in their bed rolls.

▪ Gleamsilver lies about cultists sabotaging breakfast to have the
characters question who they can trust.
▪ Gleamsilver informs characters of Azbara’s identity and seeds Red
Wizards and Cultists working together.

▪ Gleamsilver kills a cultist guard. Cultists blame characters.

▪ Cartographers are searching for Ostoria artifacts that may lie
beneath Waterdeep.
0. Leosin tasks the characters with following a suspicious caravan heading
north.
▪ This caravan is stockpiled with marked cargo that was set aside in
discrete warehouses.

0. Characters learn the location of Castle Naerytar.
▪ Characters find marked cargo leading into a tunnel to an unknown
location.

▪ Overthrow Dalmorrer Borngray so Tiamat will allow Pharblex to

▪ Meeting with characters to question them about what they know
about the cult’s plans.
iii. Observatory
▪ farseer of Illusk pointed at Waervaerendor's lair, this is a golden
opportunity for characters to learn Voaraghamanthar's secret.
iv. Rezmir’s Office
▪ Operation Instructions for the teleportation circle & farseer of
Illusk
▪ Letters depicting a dispute with Talis and Rezmir
▪ encrypted notes on the topic of the twin dragons along Skyreach
castle and how it was acquired.
v. Teleportation Circle
▪ Teleports characters to a hunting lodge in Parnast, near Greypeak
mountains
▪ Also, can teleport to a multitude of other places but that may be a
mystery.

▪ Wyverns to fly to the castle if it departs.

▪ If the white dragon is slain and the cult has routed Rath Modar
results to plan B (Slay Blagothkus crashing the castle)
▪ Killing Rath Modar is a serious blow to the cult’s ability to summon
Tiamat.
ii. Rezmir’s Office
▪ If killed before looting his chest the black dragon mask is teleported
to the Well of Dragons
iii. Cloud Giant Tower
▪ Either the characters befriend Blagothkus or inevitably he/his
spirit crashes the castle.
▪ With the giants competing for dominance amongst themselves,
Blagothkus has taken it upon himself to show giantkind that the
true threat is not themselves but dragons by helping the cult usher
Tiamat into the Material Plane.

▪ Depending on Gleamsilver’s attitude towards the characters, at this
point she may or may not attempt to betray the characters once the
7 snakes arrive.

▪ Orcs retreat to Nightstone fleeing from wood elves.

▪ Pay a ransom of 1 gold piece per villager. (The total amount is 31
gp, minus 1 gp for each villager who has died since the characters
arrived at the caves.)
▪ Give Hark a working lock. Hark needs the new lock f or his
treasure chest in area 8.
▪ Kill the Blob (see area 3). If the characters provide Hark with
proof of the black pudding's demise, he releases all the villagers
into their custody.

i. Zephyros approaches the characters claiming they are ones “they spoke of”
and offers to assist them with a speedy travel to Goldenfields.
▪ Zephyros has recently returned from the depths of madness from
failed castings of the contact spell.
▪ “They” have warned Zephyros against playing too much of a hand
in the character’s journey to restoring the Ordning.
ii. Operation “Orb Strike”
▪ Dwarves carried by a silver dragon arrive on a mission to disable
the Navigation Orb and slay the giant.

The Chosen Path
a. Harshnag approaches the party suggesting they visit the oracle to find the best
solution to this problem.
i. Harshnag sacrifices himself for the characters during the battle with
Lymrith.
▪ Harshnag desecrates the temple of Annam of the characters don’t
evacuate in time, destroying the temple in the process.
b. Words of the Oracle
i. Find relics to find giants.
ii. Gain couch from giants.
iii. Use couch to Hekaton court.
a. Erigeron’s spirit stays within the temple of Annam awaiting his destiny to be
fulfilled.
i. Blagothkus killed his son out of jealousy over the oracle claiming his
son would be favored among the gods.
ii. Erigeron will assist the characters in communicating with the oracle or
interpreting its wisdom.
b. Klauth sends a cult of the dragon airship.
ii. Klauth attempts to assist the cult of the dragon with a plan to help
steer the characters away from the cult's activities and toward the
giants.
