Who am I
My name is Darwis Alvaro, I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. I am the oldest son in my family,
and I have been living in Jakarta for 18 years. I am a hardworking student who has a goal to
accomplish. I have great personality, I am a creative person that loves to express idea,
ambitious and caring.
Why do I choose to study in China
Since I was born, my family used Chinese language for daily conversation, especially my
mom, and that’s when I became curious and wanted to know Chinese more deeply. My
mom fully supported me and always encouraged me to get into it. She put me into a
Chinese class when I was 11, and that was the moment I started to get into learning
Mandarin. I started it with love and hate relationships, sometimes I love it because of
Chinese drama that I always watched, and I hate it because it is very frustrating for me to
memorize every single characters from the book. But I slowly learn to enjoy it, cause I
started to aware how studying Chinese language will impact life. I started to taught myself,
memorizing every single word, and participated in simulation test, my mandarin score in
school always surpassed the average. I have been really curious about China when I have to
decide which country should I go for my further studies, because I see a very good potential
if I can study and develop my skills there, more over I had learned the language itself which
will help me to adapt and survive there. I saw that Chinese language is highly important
knowing that Chinese is the most spoken language in the world. I feel it will be better if I can
learn Chinese language directly in China compared in Indonesia. Since I’ve started learning
Chinese, I’m confidently believe that I can adapt their quickly which will benefit my studies
journey. Besides that I am fully aware that China will play a major role in world affairs in the
future. As China now has opened up to the West, there are opportunities for employment in
all areas and which It may increase my job opportunities just by mastering the languages
itself. Best of all, it’ll allow you to work as a translator, acting as an intermediary between
influential people. Given the scale and importance of relations between the English and
Chinese-speaking worlds, the demand for quality interpreters is strong. Besides that my
parents highly supported me to go there and hone a skill. I strongly believe that it will be a
place where I can develop my self and build my stable future.
Why do I choose to study business
My experience in life has encourage me to enter the business world. Since I was elementary
school I had special interest in seeking a product and sell it either to my friends or relatives,
helping my mom promoting her pastries, and operating small online stores that sell
construction tool. By that I had gained some experience, like sending a package, wrapping
sales, and having a chat with customer. I also enjoyed some business basic through the
internet, Those experiences showed me a whole new perspective in business which I
enjoyed learning. I see an advantage of learning the language of business world, that’s why I
have special interest to business which led me to choosing business as my major in China.
My aim is to obtain high quality education and acquire as more as possible experience with.
I am a creative person , I like to express ideas and concept and often think in a comparative
way about various issues and I am sure that I fit in this business world.
Detailed study plan
My plan is to take the following steps during my studying in China. I plan to maximize my
Chinese experience by using Chinese language to communicate with surrounding, Grammar
and Chinese characters , and I will keep improving by studying it by myself, I’m pretty sure
with my ambition I can master it in a short time. Afterward language is no more a problem,
and I can use it to focus on my business studies there. I will also set a clear and achievable
academic goals. I recognize the importance of planning and disciplined study habits to
achieve my goals, I aspire not only to excel academically but also to contribute meaningfully
to my field of study. attending lectures attentively, actively participating in class discussions,
taking comprehensive notes, and engaging in collaborative learning with peers. Also during
my studies I will engage in extracurricular activities, hobbies, and social interactions to
prevent burnout and enhance overall satisfaction.
In conclusion, having the competence in Mandarin, I am confident to adapt the new
education environment. I am really excited with bachelor’s programs in China and feel it will
drive me to success in future. I am also highly satisfied with the decision that I have taken.
