Micro-Project Report
Title of Micro-Project:- Feild survey to collect information about application of Flywheel and
governors.
1.0 Rationale:
Knowledge of various mechanisms and machines is a prerequisite for enabling a mechanical engineer to work in the
industry. This course provides the knowledge of kinematics and dynamics of different machine elements and popular
mechanisms such as four-link mechanisms, and cam-follower. belt-pulley. chain sprocket, gears, flywheel, brake, and
clutch to enable a diploma holder to carry out maintenance of these and it also serves as a prerequisite for the course
Elements of Machine Design' to be studied in a later semester.
2.0 Aims /Benefits of the Micro Project:-
This Micro-Project aims at:
1. To collect Information about flywheel and governors.
2. Gathering Information about flywheel and governors.
3. This includes identifying specific use cases, understanding the challenges and benefits associated
with their deployment, and documenting real-world examples of their effectiveness. The gathered data
will be analyzed to provide insights into the diverse applications and potential opportunities for
innovation in the field of flywheel and governor technology.
3.0 Course Outcomes Achieved:-
Select suitable flywheel and governor for various applications.
4.0 Literature Review:-
A flywheel is a heavy wheel connected to a rotating shaft so that it will easy out transport power from a
motor to a machine. In vehicle engines the flywheel serves to smooth out the pulses of power supplied via
way of means of the combustion withinside the cylinders and to offer power for the compression stroke of
the pistons. Governor, in technology, a tool that mechanically keeps the rotary velocity of an engine or
different prime mover inside relatively near limits no matter the load. A common governor regulates an
engine's velocity through various rates at which fuel is provided to it. They can be used when it is not
necessary to maintain an exact speed depending on the load.
5.0 Actual Methodology followed:-
Step 1: Discussion of topics and finalizing one
Topic was discussed and finalized by every group members.
Step 2: Submitting project proposal
Project proposal was prepared and submitted to the respective guide by all group members.
Step 3: Gathering information from resource
Information was gathered about the area of irregular shapes using the concept of Integration with the help of
mobile through online source as well as from books of NCERT and SSC 11th and 12th books.
Step 4: Discussing with guide regarding the information collected
After gathering information, group leader has discussed with the guide about information collected for the
project, and corrected the wrong part.
Step 5: Preparing chart
Chart was prepared by all group members.
Step 6: Preparing rough report
Rough report has prepared by group leader as well as corrected from the respective guide.
Step 7: Preparing final project report
Final report has prepared and shown to the guide.
Step 8: Submitting project along with viva
Project has been submitted to the guide along with viva by all group members.
