CHAPTER 1
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

A community based study was carried out among the street of Duvvada i.e,
Sathivanipalem M.p.p school. After interacting with student's we identified so
many problems, what problems are students facing in their school. There is no
standard education, no quality food, no proper furniture etc,. After interacting
with their parents we found that what problems they are facing with the current
education system.
We identified that there is no interaction among the teachers and parents about
children’s behaviour in the school.

While coming to academics, parents don't even known how their children
performing in the schools. And we identified that students are becoming helpless
to go through their goals. It is difficult for teachers to manage the progress of
individual students there, even though technology is increasing, technology has
not yet improved in government schools, so parents are not willing to join their
children's in government schools.

Maximum of parents shows interest to join their children in private schools

instead of government schools. Teachers teaching the classes but not showing
them practically. So students becoming unable to gain knowledge. Parents feels
that the education in the government schools are not sufficient that’s why they
enrolling their children in private schools for improvement.

Due to lack of proper communication between parents and teachers, parents are
not aware about the details of student's attendance, knowledge, and their progress
in all aspects. When coming to the survey, first we went to Sathivanipalem M.P.P
school, there we interacted with the students and teachers to know about the
problems what they are facing in present Education system.

Page
Later we interacted with some of the parents whose children studying in the
government schools. This is the information what we gathered during the survey.
In that survey we identified that the parents getting worry about their children's
future. The parents do not know any information about how active the student is
in school and how well they were participating in.

CHAPTER 2
OVERVIEW OF THE COMMUNITY

For the purpose of community service project, we visited Sathivanipalem. The

locality Sathivani Palam falls in Visakhapatnam district situated in Andhra
Pradesh state, with a population 8570. The male and female populations are 4364
and 4206 respectively. The size of the area is about 3.5 square kilometer.

The village nearly consists of 200 houses, approximately people of 35% of

population children of age group 3-20. Out of these around 60% children are
enrolled in educational institutions while remaining 40% are not going to any
schools. The village consists of a pre-school for the age group of 3-5 years and a
primary school with classes from 1st - 5th only. And the village people are
surviving via forming.

Lack of high school is a very big issue for the students, who willing to pursue
higher studies. Due to the absence of the high school in this village, the students
have to go to the nearby village for getting the secondary education, while the
village doesn't have any transport facility for these aspiring students, the students
facing hardships for attending the school. The village has a very small
government pre school for the children of age 3-5years.

Due to the financial problems of the villagers, most of the elders who living in the
village are uneducated. On a purpose to help the parents for paying the school
fees, the government giving Rs 15000 into the mother’s bank account under the "
The Amma Vadi" scheme launched by Chief Minister Mr. Y.S Jagan Mohan
Reddy. The education standards in the government schools is not sufficient so
parents willing to enroll their children in tuitions, which becomes an additional
burden to the parents. Teachers facing the problem of maintaining proper records
of all these students, which took lots of efforts.

Although the world is meeting high standards of living, the village still has an
outlook of a very backward area, it has huts with no electricity and no water
Page
supply. The supplied water is in undrinkable condition, which looks yellow and
probably consists of a lot of bacteria which could potentially cause diseases to the
consumers. The village has very less sanitation standards. The village lacks
hospital facility which becomes an issue in the case of emergency.
At the end of the days this village is very poor in all aspects like education, health,
transportation, municipality, and etc,.

CHAPTER 3
COMMUNITY SERVICE PART

Education has a vital role to play in developing the knowledge, skills, attitudes
and values that enable people to contribute to and benefit from an inclusive and
sustainable future. Learning to form clear and purposeful goals, work with others
with different perspectives, find untapped opportunities and identify multiple
solutions to big problems will be essential in the coming years.

Education needs to aim to do more than prepare young people for the world of
work; it needs to equip students with the skills they need to become active,
responsible and engaged citizens. Teaching students to apply knowledge and skills
to benefit others or serve the public good is one exceptionally high impact method
to foster these capabilities across the disciplines in education, “creativity” is a
term we all understand in ordinary parlance, though we may have little knowledge
of the scientific research associated with it. Craft’s review of creativity in
education offers a user-friendly overview of sixty years of literature.

While skill in written and oral communication is one of the central hallmarks of
an educated person, and while these two abilities are fundamental to success in
education. If the aim then is to broaden our students, we must first ask ourselves
what exactly we want our students to learn or be able to do after an introduction to
the major concepts and methods of our disciplines. students will need more
resources to educate themselves or to train by teachers or parents Twice in a week
student assessment is much more important to improve their studies and to gain
knowledge if students are to play an active part in all dimensions of life, they will
need to navigate through uncertainty, across a wide variety of contexts: in time
(past, present, future), in social space (family, community, region, nation and
world) and in digital space. They will also need to engage with the natural world,
to appreciate its fragility, complexity and value.

Education is a human right, a powerful driver of development, and one of the
strongest instruments for reducing poverty and improving health, gender equality,
peace, and stability. It delivers large, consistent returns in terms of income, and is
the most important factor to ensure equity and inclusion. Without quality
education, children face considerable barriers to employment and earning
potential later in life. They are more likely to suffer adverse health outcomes and
less likely to participate in decisions that affect them – threatening their ability to
shape a better future for themselves and their societies. Education goes beyond
what takes places within the four walls of the classroom.

A child gets the education from his experiences outside the school. where a
person may learn basic, academic, or trade skills. Making smart and effective
investments in people’s education is critical for developing the human capital that
will end extreme poverty. At the core of this strategy is the need to tackle the
learning crisis, put an end to Learning Poverty, and help youth acquire the
advanced cognitive, socio emotional, technical and digital skills they need to
succeed in today’s world.
The class given by the teacher should be given to increase the outside knowledge
and not only about the subject. Not only the class should be told but it should be
shown in practical. The teacher should not use only boards and also digital
technology.
The education system must contain technical and cultural, because to keep the
child from having too much pressure on studies.

Health education elevates the student's understanding of health – It allows them to

develop their physical, social, and emotional health values. When students meet more
well-informed people, they learn from them and are ready to metamorphose this
knowledge. A good quality education is the foundation of health and well-being.

For people to lead healthy and productive lives, they need knowledge to prevent
sickness and disease. For children and adolescents to learn, they need to be well
nourished and healthy.Education provides stability in life, and it's something that no

about themselves.to protect your child from harm. to provide your child with food,

and control, provide medical care, provide an education. Frankly speaking, the function
of teachers is to help students learn by imparting knowledge to them and by setting up a
situation in which students can and will learn effectively. But teachers fill a complex
set of roles, which vary from one society to another and from one educational level to
another. What is the most important role of a teacher? Image result for teacher role in
education One of the most important parts of teaching is having dedication. Teachers
not only listen, but also coach and mentor their students. They are able to help shape
academic goals and are dedicated to getting their students to achieve them.

Parent-teacher communication is more than just a process of helping improve your

student's or child's grade. When a child's parents and teachers communicate better, it
leads in better nurturing of their social development. That's because educating a child is
not the school's responsibility alone. science educators have believed that laboratory
instruction is essential because it provides training in observation, prompts the
consideration and application of detailed and contextualized information, and cultivates
students' curiosity about science. Digital technologies in education have given rise to
various Learning management systems (LMS). These LSMs have promoted virtual
classrooms where a teacher can interact with students in real-time, share his resources,
deliver his lecture, assess students' learning, collect feedback, and reply to their queries.
Mental illnesses are brain-based conditions that affect thinking, emotions, and
behaviors. Since we all have brains – having a mental health problem at some point
during your life is common. Unlike other general physical illnesses, mental illnesses are
related to problems that start in the brain. The brain is an organ.Classroom behavior is
stimulus-driven responses that occur specifically within the classroom or how students
are acting in the classroom in response to what is going on or present around them.
Behavior is very important.Teamwork, leadership, patience, discipline, perseverance,
learning from failure, sportsmanship, and other abilities are formed when students
participate in sports on a regular basis, and these skills are just as vital in studies and
management. Students will always be more interactive in classrooms if they have
strong communication skills. This interaction will lead to better clarity in understanding
the subjects being taught. This would, in turn, lead to much better grades and eventual
success in academics. Class participation is an important aspect of student learning.
Page
When students speak up in class, they learn to express their ideas in a way that others
can understand. When they ask questions, they learn how to obtain information to
enhance their own understanding of a topic.

In education an examination is a test to show the knowledge and ability of a student. A

student who takes an examination is a candidate. The person who decides how well the
student has performed is the examiner. An examination may be a written test, an on-
screen test or a practical test. Well, there are four types of background knowledge that
needs to be instilled in students from a very early age. Knowledge does much more
than just help students hone their thinking skills: It actually makes learning easier.
Knowledge is not only cumulative, it grows exponentially. Those with a rich base of
factual knowledge find it easier to learn more — the rich get richer. Good food hygiene
includes the following practices: washing your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap
and water before eating or handling food. rinsing fruit and vegetables under water to
remove any bacteria on the surface. School transportation contributes positively to
reducing the traffic. With every student choosing buses for daily commute to school
and a reduction in private vehicles comes from the safe environment. Less number of
cars on roads results in reduced pollution. School transportation contributes positively

OUTCOMES DESCRIPTION

Describe the problems you have identified in the community:

1. what students are expecting from the present education system?

2. How parents comes to know about their students performance in the schools?

3. How was the communication between the parents and the teachers?

4. What problems students are facing in present days?

5. What fecilities, teachers are expecting from the government?

Page
1. Student's want the modern-age education system of India in the 21st century is
constituted of a new approach to learning from online education to skill-development
courses, digital learning platforms, a grading system as well as the use of educational
technology in the classrooms and a newly introduced New Education Policy! The
education industry today is faced with many challenges, and in order to improve the
education system and the performance and development of the education industry, the
major improvement must be made in the sector. It discusses the major components that
need to be worked upon to create an effective improvement strategy. Educational
institutions must adapt to new technologies if they want to remain competitive.
Technology has become an integral part of most students' learning experiences, and
educational institutions must offer the newest technologies. Some benefits of using
information technology in education are; It induces scientific, economic, technological,
information and multicultural literacy and global awareness, promotes inventive
thinking, develops effective communication, induces personal, social, and civic
responsibility, and eventually leads to high productivity. It also gives students a sense
of using real-world tools with effective, relevant, and high-quality results. Students will
be drawn to those companies or institutions that can keep up with changes in
technology. The use of updated technology and equipment will improve the learning
experience and will also increase product.

2. if you want your student's parents to know how well they are doing in your
sessions, you need to be honest with them and tell them what exactly is going on. This
will also help you get the parents to help reach a right outcome to help the students
improve. Students whose parents hold high expectations receive higher grades, achieve
higher scores on standardized tests, and persist longer in school than do those whose
parents hold relatively low expectations. Creating assignments, exams,Using classroom
assessment techniques,Using concept maps,Using concept tests,Assessing group work,
Creating and using rubrics. How do you measure the performance of a student? Formal
tests, quizzes, and exams are the traditional methods for assessing student achievement.
Surveys are the traditional method to solicit feedback from students about the course
and the instructor. Survey questions are not assigned a point value and Surveys are not
graded.

3. Parent-teacher communication is more than just a process of helping improve your
student's or child's grade. When a child's parents and teachers communicate better, it
leads in better nurturing of their social development. That's because educating a child is
not the school's responsibility alone. Teachers can also use phone calls and emails to
regularly communicate with parents between conferences Text messages. Some
teachers use mass text messages or special messaging apps to communicate with
parents. A number of text services cater specifically to teachers, such as Remind.
Positive parent-school communications benefit parents. The manner in which schools
communicate and interact with parents affects the extent and quality of parents' home
involvement with their children's learning. For example, schools that communicate bad
news about student performance more often than recognizing students' excellence will
discourage parent involvement by making parents feel they cannot effectively help their
children.
When communicating with parents, consider your remarks in relation to the three
categories that influence how
parents participate. For example, are you communicating about:
1) Classroom learning activities?

2) The child's accomplishments?

3) How the parents can help at home with their child's learning

4. India is a country with more than one billion people, and just one-third of them can
read. Rapidly growing size of population, shortages of teachers, books, and basic
facilities, and insufficient public funds to cover education costs are some of the nation's
toughest challenges.Health & Wellness - survey shows that many of our students are
stressed out, anxiety-filled,and at their breaking point. Teachers and leaders are
experiencing those same issues.
Literacy - We have too many students not reading with proficiency, and therefore, at
risk of missing out on the opportunity to reach their full potential. School Leadership -
Many school leaders enter into the position with high hopes of having a deep impact
but are not always prepared for what they find. School leadership has the potential to be
awesome. And when I mention school leadership, I am also referring to department
chairs, PLC leads, or grade-level leaders. Unfortunately, not all leaders feel prepared
for the position.teachers With guns - I need to be honest with you; this one was not easy
to add to the list, and it is very much a U.S. issue. I recently saw this story on NBC
Nightly News with Lester Holt that focused on teachers in Utah being trained to shoot
guns in case of an active shooter in their school.
This is a story that we will see more of in 2020.

CHAPTER 6
CONCLUSION

For the purpose of community service project we visited sattivanipalem village.

According to education issues mainly we find there is no lack communication between
students, parents and teachers. Due to there is no communication parents will face
some issues about their children education, means child’s parents not getting any
progress from their children school, and the parents do not have a clarity on the child’s
attendance.

Teachers don’t even know whether children are studying at home or not. Due to the
lack of communication between the teacher and the child, students doesn’t know
updates in their attendance and they doesn’t know updates how much they got marks in
their examinations.

Effective communication between teachers and students has the potential to improve
the learning experience and create a positive environment. Due to lack of
communication certainly make it difficult for students to get the most out of their
education. Teachers struggle to give updates their children because they spend some
extra time to giving their updates. Due to this communication problem we are going to
implement a software. This software is used to overcome the communication problem,
in this software, teachers, students and parents can also be in communication. All the
records related to education in this software are also updates. Parents can check the
progress cards of their children from time to time by using this software. They don’t
need to physically communication with parents and teachers because this software
works like a mediator between parents and teachers.
