Simplified DocuSign Configuration
CLM Standard integration with DocuSign has been simplified
Introduction
Note
At this time, we recommend using the configuration method documented in Configuration of DocuSign.
The CLM Standard integration with DocuSign has been simplified. To enable DocuSign you now only need to provide the DocuSign service account email
address and Authorize the service user account.
Previously, it was necessary to:
Acquire an integration key
Acquire encryption keys
Create a separate DocuSign account for each user.
Authorize the DocuSign account for each Coupa user.
The user experience for those sending contracts for signature and for signatories has not changed except in the case where your organization has opted to require those
sending contracts for signature to sign into DocuSign with a dedicated account. See How it Works.
Note
All new installations will use the new integration method (Single DocuSign service account).
The DocuSign microservice URL must be registered within DocuSign (e.g. If Coupa Core communicates to DocuSign via
microservice https://esign.hostname.com), register the following URL inside DocuSign: https://esign.hostname.com/provider_response/docusign
Questions about how to register the microservice within DocuSign should be directed to your DocuSign contact.
How it works
The DocuSign integration now connects to a microservice to provide eSignature functionality. Create a microservice user and assign admin rights to that user in
DocuSign.
The existing CLM Standard permissions for eSignature apply. Refer to CLM Standard User Roles and Permissions for further details.
Note
Starting with Coupa Release 30, there is a new process for managing all DocuSign and Adobe Sign E-signature accounts in one place. DocuSign E-signature
accounts configured between Releases 29.6 and 30.0 will be moved to the new interface automatically. The Simplified DocuSign Configuration described below
is still accessible for now, but will be phased out later in 2021.

The microservice user must belong to a single DocuSign account
To use DocuSign features, enter the Email for DocuSign admin account in Setup > Integrations > DocuSign.
Note
If the Require users to sign-in to DocuSign to view/edit envelopes check box is selected:
The users sending documents for signature must have sender rights in DocuSign
The DocuSign application email must be entered
Coupa users sending documents for electronic signature must be registered to the same DocuSign account microservice user
If you are upgrading from a previous release, you will see your existing configuration and you do not have to make the change to use the method of
integration immediately. However, we encourage you to make the switch as soon as you can as the historical method will be deprecated in an upcoming release.

It is also advised to check the service user's email inbox for any error notifications, e.g. delivery failure notifications.
