Please follow the steps below to update the NXP Firmware of your NPK-20.
(Note: The NXP Firmware is different from the STYLE Firmware. Please refer to the STYLE
Firmware Update Guide if you are updating the STYLE Firmware.)
1. Download the NXP firmware.
• Visit the NPK-20 page on the NUX website, and download the NXP Firmware zip file
according to your operating system (Windows or macOS).
• Unzip the file. In the folder you will find the Updater (MIDI_DFU_Updater) and the
Firmware itself (.bin file).
2. Connect the NPK-20 and put it into Update mode.
• Connect the NPK-20 to your computer using a USB-MIDI cable.
• Press and hold down both the DUAL/SPLIT and the FUNCTION buttons, and then
press down the POWER button, until it shows “FIRMWARE UPDATE START READY!”
on the screen.
3. Update the firmware.
• Run the Updater (MIDI_DFU_Updater) on your computer.
• Under both “MIDI Device Out” and “MIDI Device In”, select “RPC DFU”.
• Click “File…” and select the firmware (.bin file).
• Click “Start Update” and wait until the status bar shows 100%. Do NOT unplug the
USB cable or the power supply during the process.
4. Complete the firmware update.
• When the status bar shows 100%, you will not be able to turn off the NPK-20 using
the power button. Please unplug the power supply and plug it back, and then press
the power button to turn on the NPK-20.
• Now the NXP Firmware has been updated successfully.
