B. Protect mechanical finishes on exposed surfaces from damage by comply
applying a strippable,
temporary protective covering before shipping.
C. Appearance of Finished Work: Variations in appearance of abutting or
adjacent pieces are
acceptable if they are within one-half of the range of approved Samples.
Noticeable
variations in the same piece are not acceptable. Variations in
appearance of other
components are acceptable if they are within the range of approved
Samples and are
assembled or installed to minimize contrast.
D. BHMA Designations: Comply with base material and finish
requirements indicated by the
following:
1. BHMA 630: Satin stainless steel, over stainless-steel base metal.
3.2 A Steel Doors and Frames: Comply with DHI A115 series.
1. Surface-Applied Door Hardware: Drill and tap doors and frames comply
according to
SDI 107.
1.5 A QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Steel Door and Frame Standard: Comply with ANSI A 250.8, unless
more stringent requirements are indicated. Comply
B. Fire-Rated Door Assemblies: Assemblies complying with NFPA 80
that are listed and labeled by UL, Warnock Hersey, or another testing
and inspecting agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction, for
fire-protection ratings indicated, based on testing according to NFPA
252.
2.3 B DOORS
A. General: Provide doors of sizes, thicknesses, and designs indicated.
B. Interior Doors: Provide doors complying with requirements
indicated below by referencing comply
ANSI 250.8 for level and model and ANSI A250.4 for physical-
endurance level:
1. Level 3 and Physical Performance Level A (Extra Heavy Duty), Model
2 (Seamless),
consisting of two 0.053 inch (1.3 mm) thick faces (each) and a total
thickness of 1-3/4
inch (44.4 mm).
2.3 D Door Louvers: Provide louvers for interior doors, where indicated, that
comply with
SDI 111C, with blades or baffles formed of 30T0.020-inch-30T 39T (0.5-
mm-) 39T thick, cold-rolled steel comply
sheet set into 30T0.032-inch-30T39T (0.8-mm-)39T thick steel frame.
