Topic: The Promise of the Holy Spirit

Definition of the word Promise:

A promise is a statement or pledge of intention made by one person to another to do or not to do


something in the future. A promise is made with the intention of keeping it and is considered binding as
it carries with it a sense of obligation and commitment.

Promises are often made in Personal relationship between friends and family & married couples but
they can also be made in professional or business settings. Promises are considered important because
they are a sign of trust and dependability and breaking a promise has serious consequences.

PROMISE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Definition of the word "HolySpirit"

The Holy Spirit is the third person in the trinity and is often referred to as the Spirit of God,
Spirit of christ. The Holy Spirit is not a physical being but rather a Spiritual being and is believed
to be the source of power and guidance for believers.

The Holy Spirit is mentioned in the bible in both the new and the old testament and is often
associated with the presence of God and the empowerment of believers. The Holy Spirit is
thought to dwell within believers and to walk through them to bring about God's will and
purpose in the world.
Promise Of The Holy Spirit Proper

The promise of the Holy Spirit is a key concept in christianity and refers to the gift of the Holy
Spirit that was given to believers after Jesus ascension into heaven, the

promise of the Holy Spirit is mentioned in the bible in Acts: 1-3-6 and John 14: 1-10 and is
taught to refer to the gifts of the Holy Spirit that was given to the disciples at pentecost this gift
is believed to have given the disciples the power and authority to spread the gospel of Jesus
Christ and perform miracles.

The Purpose of the Promise Of

The purpose of the promise of

the Holy Spirit is in two:

1. To empower believer to carry out God's will and guide them to the life that is pleasing to God

2. The HolySpirit spirit is often seen as the power behind the apostles ministry and the power to
perform miracles

3. The HolySpirit spirit is also seen as a guide leading believers to do the of God and to live a life
of holiness

4. Through the holy spirit believers are able to discern the truth resist temptation and
overcome sin.

The coming of the Holy Spirit

Peters first speech and it's significance/effect.

The coming of the Holy Spirit is an important event in the bible Occuring after Jesus's ascension
into heaven. According to the book of acts the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles on the
day of pentecost manifesting itself as a rushing wind and tongues of fire. This event was seen as
a fufilment of Jesus's promise to send the Holy Spirit, and it marked the beginning of the
apostle:s mission to spread the gospel. The Coming of the Holy Spirit is also Seen as the
beginning of christian Church.

Peter's first Speech And It's

Effect

the first speech of the apostle Peter is found in the book of Acts, chapter. 2. In this speech,
Peter addresses the crowd in Jerusalem on the day of pentecost, speaking about the death and
ressurection of Jesus.

His speech is powerful and persuasive convincing many in the crowd to become followers of
Jesus. As a result of Peter's Speech about 3000 people were baptised and the christian Church
was born. Peter's speech was significant because it helped to spread the message of Jesus and
began the process of establishing the early church.

Fellowship In The Early Church

The concept of fellowship was very important in the early church. The word Fellowship
comes from the greek word "Koinonia", which means "Communion" or Sharing" in common.
For the early christians, fellowship involve not only meeting together to worship, but also
Sharing resources and caring for One another, they saw themselves as a community of
believers, who were united in their faith and their commitment to each other. This sense of
fellowship was crucial to the early church growth and survival.

Togetherness In The Early Church

One of the depining characteristics of the early church was the sense of togetherness and unity
that existed among believers in the new testament. the greek word "Koinonia" is often used to
describe this sense of togetherness. This togetherness was seen in many ways such as the
sharing of meals, the pooling of resources and on the willingness to help those in need. The
early christians saw themselves as part of a new community, united by their faith in christ. This
sense of togetherness was a key factor in the growth and Strength of the early church.
