Objectives
An organization has two departments. Each department requires to allocate equal number of IP
addresses to allocate to their employees. For this, a fixed-length subnet mask (FLSM) is used to fulfill
the organization requirement. FLSM refers to a type of enterprise or provider networking where a block
of IP addresses is divided into multiple subnets of equal length, i.e. an equal number of IP addresses.
FLSM streamlines packet routing within the subnets of a proprietary network.
A subnet can be defined as a geographically defined local area network (LAN). Also, it may define
security boundaries, departmental boundaries, and multicast zones. The advantage is to create locally
significant subnet identification addresses.
Subnetting defines dividing a network into multiple smaller subnetworks by using a subnetting mask. In
FLSM, the number of IP addresses is the same in each subnet. Another way of saying this is that the
same number of IP addresses are allocated to each subnet. Therefore, the subnet mask used will be the
same for all the subnets.

Task 1: Utilize the class C address 192.168.105.0-192.168.105.255 block for creating the network.
Divide the address by creating two LANs and two WANs network. The number of addresses should
be equally distributed among all the networks.
Task 2: Configure the network using dynamic routing protocol to transfer the message from one
network to another network.
Task 3: Configure the routers with the network addresses.
Task 4: Understand and explore PDUs and simulation scenarios.
Submission Guidelines:
a) The assignment must be verified by the instructor during the lab (Submission on LMS will
only be considered once the working topology on Packet Tracer is verified). Submit the
.cpt file along with the details in word/pdf in zipped format on LMS within 4 days.
b) Zipped files must be saved as per the format RollNo_Lab# (Example: E21CSE632_Lab1).
c) Write the name and enrolment number inside the assignment file. Without it, your
submission will not be considered for evaluation.
d) Provide labels for IP addresses, cable and devices.
e) Submit the assignment in your respective batch’s submission link in LMS. Submission in
other batch’s submission portal will not be checked.
f) Late submission will lead to penalty.
g) Plagiarism will lead to negative grading.
