General information:

-​ The following guide lists the Roles (or Classes) available in version 9.1.3 of
Pokémon Pathways. Currently, there are twelve in the game.

-​ A Role is a trainer archetype you can make yours like Knight or Adventurer. It will
allow you to teach certain moves to your Pokémon regardless of movepool and
replace their ability with specific ones for a cost. Additionally, the damage inflicted by
Pokémon of the type your class specialises in will be increased by 4, 7 or 10%
depending on how far you’ve walked down its path. If there is a link attached to an
ability or move, it means it is custom and you can view the details in Game Changes.

-​ You can only have one Role, and the decision is irreversible. In other words, think
carefully before making your choice.

-​ To get a Role, you need to meet its instructor and catch their eye. Each instructor has
specific requirements that need to be met in order to be taught their secrets. Once
you have officially become their disciple, your new master will be waiting in the
basement of the Academy Tower. They will be the one to teach you new moves and
replace abilities.

Neutral Alignment Classes:

Adventurer: (Treasure, Weather and Terrain)

Apprentice:
Instructor: Shadow Six Maxwell is originally found in Waterfall Passage. You may sometimes
find him in the Library.
Requirements: 10 Strength, 10 Intelligence, 10 Skill.
Quest: Show him a Pokémon with Pickup.
Completion reward: the right to learn moves and change abilities; the ability to see hidden
items; 1 Rocky Helmet, 1 Safety Goggles, 1 Covert Cloak, and 1 Heavy Duty Boots hidden
in the Classroom Tower as a tutorial.
Moves: Weather Ball, Weather Bomb, Terrain Pulse.
Abilities: Rain Dish, Leaf Guard, Mimicry.

Expert:
Requirements: 25 Strength, 25 Intelligence, 25 Skill.
Quest: Show him a Heat Rock, a Damp Rock, a Smooth Rock, an Icy Rock, and a single
level 50 Pokémon with one of the following abilities: Drought, Drizzle, Sand Stream, or Snow
Warning.
Completion reward: extending the duration of any weather you set by 1, the right to learn
moves and change abilities.
Moves: Ice Spinner, Clean Slate, Psybomb.
Abilities: Solar Power, Sand Force, Cooling.

Master:
Requirements: 45 Strength, 45 Intelligence, 45 Skill.
Quest: Show him a level 70 Shiny Pokémon with one of the following abilities: Electric
Surge, Grassy Surge, Psychic Surge, or Misty Surge.
Completion reward: extending the duration of any terrain you set by 1, the right to learn
moves and change abilities, and a Diancite.
Moves: Grassy Glide, Fae Blade, Flash-Bang.
Abilities: Slush Rush, Sand Rush, Swift Swim.

Beast Tamer: (Dragon, Flying, Bug)

Apprentice:
Instructor: Kraven is originally found in Riverside Road. You may sometimes find him in the
Training Den too.
Requirements: 15 Charm, 10 Skill, 10 Intelligence.
Quest: Show him a Dragon type Pokémon.
Completion reward: +4% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities.
Moves: Dragon Gnaw, Pounce, Pluck.
Abilities: Bird of Prey, Rough Skin, Synchronize.

Expert:
Requirements: 30 Charm, 30 Skill, 25 Intelligence.
Quest: Show him a level 50 Flygon and 3 Rare Bones.
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities.
Moves: Lunge, Acrobatics, Dragon Claw.
Abilities: Armor Tail, Tangling Hair, Marvel Scale.

Master:
Requirements: 50 Charm, 45 Skill, 40 Intelligence.
Quest: Show him a level 70 Aerodactyl.
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities, and an Aerodactylite.
Moves: Dragon Pulse, Brave Bird, Megahorn.
Abilities: Dragonize (Dragon-type Aerilate), Primal Fury, Basilisk.
Gambler: (Money and RNG)

Apprentice:
Instructor: Shadow Six Felix is originally found in the New Dawn’s Headquarters. You may
sometimes find him in the Dorm Cafeteria.
Requirements: 15 Skill, 10 Intelligence, 10 Charm.
Quest: Show him a Meowth.
Completion reward: +20% money gained in battles, the right to learn moves and change
abilities, an Amulet Coin.
Moves: Fated Fortune, Metronome, Fixed Odds.
Abilities: Super Luck, Lucky Charm, Rags to Riches.

Expert:
Requirements: 25 Skill, 25 Intelligence, 25 Charm.
Quest: Show him a Shiny Meowth or a Shiny Persian.
Completion reward: +15% money gained in battles, the right to learn moves and change
abilities, and a Loaded Dice.
Moves: Foul Play, Lucky Dip, Roulette Spin.
Abilities: Golden Land, Scrappy, Competitive.

Master:
Requirements: 45 Skill, 45 Intelligence, 45 Charm.
Quest: Show him a level 70 Shiny Togekiss.
Completion reward: a level 5 Togepi provided upon accepting the quest, +15% money
gained at the end of battles, the right to learn moves and change abilities, the ability to buy
Big Nuggets to fuel your gambling addiction, and a Togekissite.
Moves: Wild Card, Jackpot Bonanza, Treasure Drop.
Abilities: Spendthrift, Stacked Odds, All or Nothing.

Scientist: (Electric, Steel, Psychic)

Apprentice:
Instructor: Professor Spruce is originally found in Thunder Factory Right. You may
sometimes find her on the second floor of the Library.
Requirements: 5 Dark Aura, 5 Light Aura, 15 Intelligence, 10 Skill.
Quest: Bring her a Psychic-type and 1 Magnet.
Completion reward: +4% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities, and a level 5 Elgyem.
Moves: Magnet Rise, Magnet Bomb, Gravity.
Abilities: Magnet Pull, Anticipation, Heatproof.

Expert:
Requirements: 10 Dark Aura, 10 Light Aura, 30 Intelligence, 20 Skill.
Quest: Bring her a level 50 Electric-type fossil Pokémon.
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities.
Moves: Volt Switch, Event Horizon, Memory Wipe.
Abilities: Levitate, Filter, Gravity Surge.

Master:
Requirements: 15 Dark Aura, 15 Light Aura, 55 Intelligence, 45 Skill.
Quest: Bring her a level 70 Archaludon.
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities, and an Electrodite.
Moves: Singularity, Graviton Hammer, Gravity Flux.
Abilities: Eureka, Metallicize, Analytic.

Light Alignment Classes:

Druid: (Grass, Fairy, Ground)

Apprentice:
Instructor: Jehowiczak is originally found in Jurassic Jungle. You may sometimes find him in
the Classroom Tower Lobby.
Requirements: 10 Light Aura, 15 Charm, 10 Intelligence.
Quest: Show him a Soft Sand and a Miracle Seed.
Completion reward: +4% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities.
Moves: Primal Bloom, Land Shake, Shillelagh.
Abilities: Effect Spore, Overgrow, Aroma Veil.

Expert:
Requirements: 25 Light Aura, 30 Charm, 25 Intelligence.
Quest: Show him 2 Big Mushrooms and a level 50 Shiinotic.
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities.
Moves: Leech Seed, Aromatherapy, Seed Bomb.
Abilities: Sap Sipper, Natural Cure, Deep Roots.

Master:
Requirements: 40 Light Aura, 50 Charm, 40 Intelligence.
Quest: Show him a level 70 Shiny Tropius.
Completion reward: level 5 Tropius provided upon accepting the quest, +3% damage with
class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and change abilities, and a Tropiusite.
Moves: Moonblast, Giga Drain, Earth Power.
Abilities: Druidcraft, Tellurize, Forest Spirits.
Knight: (Steel, Rock, Fighting)

Apprentice:
Instructor: Sir Berus is originally found in Iron Grove. You may sometimes find him in the
Dojo.
Requirements: 10 Light Aura, 10 Strength, 10 Skill.
Quest: Give him 2 Metal Coats and 2 Hard Stones.
Completion reward (Knight): +4% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves
and change abilities, a level 5 Honedge.
Moves: Metal Burst, Sharpen, Seismic Toss.
Abilities: Vital Spirit, Iron Barbs, Shield Dust.

Expert:
Note: You may switch to an Expert Knight if you are an Apprentice Dark Knight and meet the
stat requirements.
Requirements: 25 Light Aura, 25 Strength, 25 Skill.
Quest: Show him a level 50+ Sirfetch’d.
Completion reward (Knight): +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves
and change abilities.
Completion reward (Dark Knight): class change to Expert Knight, rewards above, and
conversion of your previous role boost to match the new class.
Moves: Shield Bash, Disarming Thrust, Relic Blade.
Expert Abilities: Gallant, Grit, No Guard

Master:
Requirements: 45 Light Aura, 40 Strength, 40 Skill.
Quest: Show Shadow Six Milos Zelex a level 70+ Shiny Gallade.
Completion reward: a level 5 Ralts provided upon accepting the quest, +3% damage with
class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and change abilities, and a Galladite.
Moves: Iron Defense, Heavy Cavalry, Sacred Sword.
Abilities: Weak Armor, Duelize, Blademaster.

Ranger: (Flying, Bug, Grass)

Apprentice:
Instructor: Mairi is originally found on Mt Grassland. You may sometimes find her in the
Training Den.
Requirements: 10 Light Aura, 15 Skill, 10 Charm.
Quest: Give her 5 Honey or show her a member of the Rowlet line.
Completion reward: a level 5 Snivy, +4% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn
moves and change abilities.
Moves: Bullet Seed, Pin Missile, Quick Shot.
Abilities: Keen Eye, Long Reach, Ranger Remedy.

Expert:
Requirements: 25 Light Aura, 35 Skill, 25 Charm.
Quest: Show her a Vespiquen or a Serperior at level 50.
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities.
Moves: Petal Blizzard, Squall, Pollen Puff.
Abilities: Natural Enemy, Compound Eyes, Sharpshooter.

Master:
Requirements: 40 Light Aura, 50 Skill, 40 Charm.
Quest: Show her a level 70 Shiny Hisuian Decidueye (regular works too).
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities, and a Deciduite H.
Moves: Tangling Arrow, Multi Shot, Leech Arrow.
Abilities: Primeval Gift, Rapid Fire, Lighten.

Saint: (Fairy, Flying, Water)

Apprentice:
Instructor: Arlo Fyor is originally found in Ancient Ruins. You may sometimes find him on a
bench in front of the Docks.
Requirements: 15 Light Aura, 15 Charm, 10 Skill.
Quest: Show him a Fairy-type Pokémon.
Completion reward: +4% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities.
Moves: Disarming Voice, Aqua Ring, Aerial Ace.
Abilities: Cloud Nine, Water Veil, Justified.

Expert:
Requirements: 30 Light Aura, 25 Charm, 20 Skill.
Quest: Show him a level 50 Altaria or Togekiss.
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities.
Moves: Holy Water, Air Slash, Heavenly Sonata.
Abilities: Dazzling, Airborne, Mirror Armor.

Master:
Requirements: 50 Light Aura, 40 Charm, 30 Skill.
Quest: Show him a level 70 Shiny Swanna.
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities, and a Swannite.
Moves: Numinous Hymn, Dazzling Gleam, Roost.
Abilities: Seraphic Heal, Divine Mandate, Holy Duster.

Dark Alignment Classes:

Dark Knight: (Steel, Ground, Dark)

Apprentice:
Instructor: Shadow Six Rexzo is in Boulder Province. You may sometimes find him in the
South City District.
Note: You may switch to an Apprentice Dark Knight if you are an aspirant Knight who meets
the stat requirements.
Requirements: 15 Dark Aura, 10 Strength, 10 Skill.
Quest: Show him an Aegislash.
Completion reward: a level 5 Honedge provided upon accepting the quest, +4% damage
with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and change abilities.
Moves: Comeuppance, Harden, Piledriver
Abilities: Insomnia, Iron Barbs, Shield Dust.

Expert:
Note: You may switch to an Expert Dark Knight if you are an Apprentice Knight and meet the
stat requirements.
Requirements: 25 Dark Aura, 25 Strength, 25 Skill.
Quest: Show him a Tyranitar and 2 Dark Gems.
Completion reward (Dark Knight): +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn
moves and change abilities.
Completion reward (Knight): class change to Expert Dark Knight, rewards above, and
conversion of your previous role boost to match the new class.
Moves: Shield Bash,Stomping Tantrum, Doom Blade.
Expert Abilities: Vicious Edge, Grit, No Guard

Master:
Requirements: 45 Dark Aura, 40 Strength, 40 Skill.
Quest: Show him a level 70+ Shadow Hisuian Samurott (regular works too).
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities, and a Samurottite H.
Moves: Abyssal Slash, Tectonic Cleave, Swords Dance.
Abilities: First Blood, Sinisterize, Blademaster.
Geneticist: (Electric, Dragon, Poison)

Apprentice:
Instructor: Rigor is originally found in Thunder Factory Left. You may sometimes find him in
the Classroom Tower Lobby. You need to do a quest for him to unlock this role.
Requirements: 10 Dark Aura, 15 Intelligence, 10 Skill.
Quest: Bring him a female Ariados.
Completion reward: +4% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities.
Moves: Gastro Acid, Gene Splicing, Shock Wave.
Abilities: Magnet Pull, Soundproof, Poison Point.

Expert:
Requirements: 20 Dark Aura, 30 Intelligence, 20 Skill.
Quest: Bring him a level 50 Dragon-type fossil Pokémon.
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities, and a level 40 Subject 84 Joltik.
Moves: Volt Switch, Dragon Tail, Venoshock.
Abilities: Oxidation, Dragon DNA, Volatile Brew.

Master:
Requirements: 40 Dark Aura, 55 Intelligence, 35 Skill.
Quest: Bring him a level 70 Shadow Vikavolt.
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities, and a Vikavoltite.
Moves: Draco Meteor, Parabolic Charge, Venomous Spine.
Abilities: Ferrite Scales, Galvanize, Neurotoxicity.

Necromancer: (Ghost, Dark, Psychic)

Apprentice:
Instructor: Shadow Six Barret is originally found in Haunted Manor. You may sometimes find
him in the South City District.
Requirements: 10 Dark Aura, 20 Intelligence, 15 Skill.
Quest: Bring him a Gengar.
Completion reward: +4% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities.
Moves: Punishment, Heal Block, Nightmare.
Abilities: Stench, Mummy, Reaper.

Expert:
Requirements: 20 Dark Aura, 30 Intelligence, 25 Skill.
Quest: Show him a level 50 Spiritomb.
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities.
Moves: Psycho Cut, Shadow Claw, Dark Pulse.
Abilities: Cursed Body, Dreadful, Shadow Tag.

Master:
Requirements: 40 Dark Aura, 50 Intelligence, 40 Skill.
Quest: Show him a level 75 Shadow Skeledirge.
Completion reward: a level 5 Fuecoco provided upon accepting the quest, +3% damage with
class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and change abilities, and a Gengarite.
Moves: Dark Dirge, Psychic Chain, Phantom Hand.
Abilities: Ghouliate, Dirty Deeds, Mindflay.

Ninja: (Bug, Dark, Poison)

Apprentice:
Instructor: Hayate is originally found in Rain Forest. You may sometimes find him in the
Dorm Cafeteria Outback.
Requirements: 10 Dark Aura, 15 Intelligence, 15 Skill.
Quest: Show him a Shedinja.
Completion reward: +4% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities, and a Light Clay.
Moves: Clear Smog, Shuriken Throw, Switcheroo.
Abilities: Infiltrator, White Smoke, Frisk.

Expert:
Requirements: 20 Dark Aura, 25 Intelligence, 30 Skill.
Quest: Show him a level 50+ Ninjask and 2 Smoke Balls.
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities.
Moves: Poison Jab, Parting Shot, X-Scissor.
Abilities: Poison Touch, Insidious, Technician.

Master:
Requirements: 35 Dark Aura, 50 Intelligence, 50 Skill.
Quest: Show him a level 70 Greninja.
Completion reward: +3% damage with class type Pokémon, the right to learn moves and
change abilities, and a Shedinjte.
Moves: Toxic Spikes, Knock Off, Quiver Step.
Abilities: Venomize, Assassin, Velocity.
