Teenage pregnancy remain a significant concern worldwide, with
adverse consequences for both the mother and child, particularly in the
context of education. This research aims to explore the challenges faced by
teenage mothers in pursuing education at Baybay City Senior High School.
The study utilizes a qualitative approach, employing interviews and surveys to
gather data from teenage mothers enrolled in the institution. The research
findings highlight the multifaceted challenges that teenage mothers encounter
in their educational journey. These challenges encompass social,
psychological, and economic aspects. Socially, teenage mothers often face
stigmatization and discrimination from peers, teachers, and the community,
with can negatively impact their self-esteem and motivation to continue their
education. Psychologically, they may experienced emotional distress, feelings
of guilt, and a lack of support, which can further hinder their educational
progress. Economically, teenage mothers often struggle with financial
constraints, as they face the responsibility of raising a child while pursuing
their studies. The study also reveals the impact of these challenges on the
educational outcomes of teenage mothers. Many of them face high dropout
rates, diminished academic performance, and limited opportunities for future
education or employment. Additionally, the research identify the need for
comprehensive support system to address the specific needs of teenage
mothers, including counseling services, child care facilities, and flexible
educational programs.

mothers who willingly participated in this study. Their openness and
willingness to share their experiences have been instrumental in shedding
light on the challenges they face in their educational journey. Without their
valuable insights and cooperation, this research would not have been
possible. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the school
administrators, teachers, and staff of Baybay City Senior High School for their
support and cooperation throughout the research process. Their assistance
on facilitating access to the participants and providing valuable information
about the school’s policies and programs was invaluable.
