Unit 1. Living in a digital age
Individual task.
Taking stock of your digital self
Think about the way you use technology in the following areas: personal life,
work, learning
1. Who do you interact with digitally? How do you do it?
Personal:
In my personal life, I use technology to communicate with the people I’m close to,
like my family, friends, etc. I also use it in my free time for watching videos,
drawing, and reading. It’s also a great resource for learning new recipes and more.
Work:
I don’t work yet, but I plan to use technology to improve my skills in my area. It
will also be a valuable tool because, with a laptop, I will have everything I need for
the type of job I hope to have.
Learner:
Nowadays, technology is one of the main resources for learning. I use it to relearn
things I might have forgotten or to learn something new that I didn’t know before.
2. What is it like to be digitally illiterate? What would you feel without
technology in this digital world? If you had to rate your digital literacy
from 1 to 5, being 1 the highest and 5 the lowest, what range would it
be?
Comments:
I think nowadays it’s pretty hard to be digitally illiterate because saving money,
making payments, and many other common tasks are now done with technology.
So, I believe it's not good to lack digital skills. I would feel a bit lost, mainly
because the things I enjoy doing are done with technological devices. I would rate
my digital literacy as a 2.
