Power Exponentiation Unicode

Exponentiation is defined as the product of a base 'a' multiplied by itself 'n' times, represented as a^n. Key properties include rules for multiplying and dividing powers, as well as raising powers to another exponent. These properties facilitate calculations involving exponents in various mathematical contexts.

Power (Exponentiation)

1. Definition:

Let a ∈ ■, n ∈ ■*, the product of n factors of a is called the power of a with exponent n, denoted:
a^n = a · a · ... · a (n factors)

In this expression:
- a: base
- n: exponent
- a^n: power

Example:
2^3 = 2 · 2 · 2 = 8

2. Properties:

Let a, b ∈ ■, m, n ∈ ■, the following properties hold:

- a^m · a^n = a^{m + n}
- a^m / a^n = a^{m - n} (a ≠ 0, m ≥ n)
- (a^m)^n = a^{m · n}
- (ab)^n = a^n · b^n
- (a / b)^n = a^n / b^n (b ≠ 0)
