Air System Controller (ASC)
The Air System Controller (ASC) is a system automation product developed specifically for complex compressed air systems.
ASC can integrate with virtually all equipment and instrumentation found in most air systems throughout a broad range of
industries. The ASC acquires and displays the necessary data to provide health monitoring and energy management, allowing
the program to control and optimize your compressed air system.

Features & Functionality

• Integration of the complete compressed air system
• Energy management through base load and trim sequencing and/or load sharing; ASC controls
the number of operating compressors, matching best efficiency with dynamic system demand
• Time-based scheduling tool that enables virtually unlimited sequence change and compressor set
operational combinations.
• Graphical interface – summary, setup and equipment-specific screen sets as well as object-
oriented graphics and dynamic icons made to represent the integrated system
• Remote monitoring and communications – monitor from anywhere at any time and get real time data!
Check equipment status, make setpoint changes and even turn equipment on or off
• Information management through report generator and an alarm/trip and event log with
date, time and user stamp
• Optional advanced logic tool that features field-configurable control actions based on actual system events
• Optional remote notification of equipment alarm or shutdown allows a faster response time
for correction to avoid air upsets
• Full system support – instruction manuals and drawings as well as onsite or factory training available

Ingersoll Rand System Control Using ASC
Remote Supervisory Control (from ASC Server)
• Remote compressor control with Ingersoll Rand controllers
• Remote access as if user was at the local panel
(Local panel must be in remote/network mode)
• Start/stop
• Load/unload
• Reset
• Change set points

Compressor Sequencing
• Compressors may be ordered in any sequence within the system the ASC operates
• Schedule sequence changes with the powerful scheduler tool
• Equalize running hours on sequenced compressors

System Scheduler
• Change system settings on a set, regular schedule
• Schedule start/stop/load/unload based on known events
• Schedule control for compressors as well as auxiliary equipment

Auxiliary Equipment (Dryers, Cooling Towers, Water Pumps, Etc.)

• Manual remote control
• Starting and stopping based upon compressor operation (one-to-one relationship)
• Change set points
• Schedule control based on known events

Load Management for Centrifugal Compressors

• Load sharing and anti-blowoff control
• Maximize available throttle range of each compressor
• Monitor and continuously adjust inlet and bypass valve position
• Distribute the load more equally
• Reduce wasted air
• More efficient operation of system
