Component: MM-PUR-PO (Purchase Orders), Version: 3, Released On: 20.11.2020

Symptom
Shipping tab appears with a certain plant during PO creation and disappears when entering another plant.
Error "Not possible to determine shipping data for material XXXXX" (06 280) is raised during STO creation

Environment
SAP S/4HANA
SAP R/3
SAP ERP

Reproducing the Issue


1. Checking the plant configuration with transaction OVL2 and OVXC, everything is maintained correctly.
2. Open transaction ME21N
3. Select "Order type"
4. Enter Vendor and Org. Data
5. Enter Material, Quantity
6. Click checkbox "Returns Item"
7. Enter Plant
Shipping tab is missing in the Item Details section of the screen
8. Enter a different Plant
Shipping tab appears
Cause
In (Function Module) SD_TRANSFERDATA_DETERMINE certain checks are done and in case some fields are initial
(empty), it can result the shipping tab not appearing.
Namely:
T001w-VKORG (Sales organization for intercompany billing)
T001w-VTWEG (Distribution channel for intercompany billing)
T001w-SPART (Division for intercompany billing)
You can also check in SE16 (table: T001w) that these fields (or some of them) are empty in case of the problematic plant.

Resolution
Use the following customizing to set the above parameters for the problematic plant:
1. Open transaction SPRO
2. Follow this path: Sales and Distribution => Billing => Intercompany Billing
3. Execute 'Assign Organizational Units By Plant'
4. Double-click 'Assign Organizational Units to the Plants'
5. Fill the missing entries for the relevant Plant
