Getting Started with MetaTrader

1. Introduction

MetaTrader is a popular trading platform for forex, stocks, and futures. It comes in two versions: MT4 and

MT5. Both offer charting tools, technical indicators, and automated trading via Expert Advisors.

2. Installing MetaTrader

Download MetaTrader from your broker's website or from MetaQuotes. Run the installer and follow the

prompts. Once installed, launch the platform.

3. Logging Into Your Account

Go to File > Login to Trade Account. Enter your account number, password, and select the correct server.

Check 'Save password' for fast switching.

4. Interface Overview

Main sections include:

- Market Watch: Real-time prices

- Navigator: Indicators, Expert Advisors, and Accounts

- Terminal: Trade history, alerts, and journal

- Chart Area: View price charts and apply indicators.

5. Placing Trades

and click OK.

7. Switching Between Accounts

Open Navigator (Ctrl+N) > Accounts. Double-click another account to switch instantly. Make sure 'Save

password' was enabled when logging in.

8. Mobile App Usage

Install MetaTrader 4/5 from the App Store or Google Play. Login with your broker credentials. Use the

hamburger menu to switch between accounts quickly.

9. Web Terminal

Some brokers offer a web version. Log in through their portal and launch the web terminal. It provides basic

trading and charting tools.
