Surface Structures Of Hairy Cell Leukemia Cells
Scanning Electron Microscope in Analysis of the Surface Structures of Hairy Cell Leukemia Cells
Prepared by Name Date is peripheral blood and bone marrow (Falini, et al. 2004). Figure 4. SEM
images of different HCL cells demonstrating hybrid surface features of folds, clumps and microvilli The
surface projections on HCL cells have multiple functions. The fine hair like cytoplasmic structures on the
surface of these cells are rich in F actin (polymerized actin). Through constitutive activation of Rho
GTPases, and overexpression of proteins, such as CD9, pp52, and GAS7 (growth arrest specific 7), the F
actin filaments crosslink and form aggregates (Burthem, et al., 1994). These aggregated structures are...

The variant HCL form accounts for less than 10% of all HCL cases and does not differ in the major
surface characters. The definition and clinical recognition as of the two distinct entities are primarily
based on their unique combination of surface antigens. Patients with the classic form of HCL have a
distinct immunophenotypic profile on their malignant leukemic cells and are positive for CD20,
CD19, CD11c, CD25, CD103, and CD123 (Kotsianidis, et al., 2011). In contrast, the variant HCL from
are characterized as being positive for CD11c, CD20, and CD19; and negative for CD25 and CD123
(Jain, et al., 2014). Mortality due to HCL is mostly attributed to infection or bleeding complications.
There is a chronic occurrence of bacterial or fungal infections in HCL patients. The hairy surface
characters act as anchor for multiple microorganisms. In addition, the same surface features help HCL
cells to attach to different surfaces and invoke autoimmune disorders and second malignancy (Pillai, et
al., 2013). Due to the understanding of the surface of HCL cells, first by SEM followed by molecular
characterization, enormous progress has been made in finding treatment for HCL. Although, there is no
curative therapy, HCL can be controlled for long periods of time with purine nucleoside analog (PNA).
PNA therapy induces a high complete response (CR) rate both during initial therapy and as
Black Canadians And Civil Rights
Black civil rights in Canada have changed immensely over the last century, giving black Canadians a
sense of identity and equal opportunity within Canadian communities. This document provides a detailed
overview of the struggles, oppression, and changes that individuals went through, as well as the changes
they enacted into the Canadian system to improve the living standards of black Canadians. The purpose of
those like (insert people s names) and their causes are explained in detail; but also gives a background on
each person s life and the struggles that they themselves dealt with when they first moved to Canada.
Some groups or movements are also touched on in detail, and how they had an impact on the way civil
rights changed both socially and politically as they were eye opening experiences for the Canadian
government and its citizens.
The Relationship between Black Canadians and Civil Rights in Canada In the eyes of a Canadian, the
notion of human rights has evolved drastically over time. Change is ignited when someone feels as
though they are being treated unfairly and action is taken to reverse this oppressive environment. There
has been a historical pattern of unjust and inhuman acts towards perceived racially inferior groups in
Canadian history during the 20th century. The uprising of Black Civil Rights was a crucial step towards
an equal and just society; despite Canada s influence in the fight against the Nazis repressive actions in
WW2, the fight for racial
Omelas Guilt
It is most certainly okay to let a child sit in a closet, malnourished and unsocial, for the general
population s happiness. Most people would say no, but in the town of Omelas, this is how they are
able to obtain happiness. There are some contradicting opinions in Omelas, as some accept this fact and
others can not bear it. Throughout this town, guilt is felt by all; how different people deal with it is
what differs among the citizens of Omelas. Ursula Le Guin portrays the contradicting effects of guilt on
different people by demonstrating how some flee from the cause of guilt while others bury it in their
mind. In The Ones that Walk Away from Omelas, Le Guin describes how the guilt of knowing that a
helpless child is stuck in a room eats... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The people that stay in Omelas have a different way of viewing guilt. What they all believe is that their
mental suffering from guilt is not nearly as bad as the possibility of letting thousands suffer for the
happiness of one. They do not want to cave into guilt and let it control their actions. They will not
relieve their guilt by helping the child because to throw away the happiness of thousands for the chance
of happiness of one: that would be to let guilt within the walls indeed. For them, personally suffering is
the price that they pay for an entires community s happiness. With this state of mind comes extreme
compassion towards their community. Some might critique these people and say that they are cruel
because they don t care as much about the child as others, but are they really less compassionate? By
putting the happiness of thousands over the treatment of one, they can really see what compassion is and
how this experience taught them how to care. While this happiness is not the generic love and rainbows
joy that many relate to this word, it is still a feeling that can bring delight to many in Omelas. As Le Guin
says, It is because of the child that they are so gentle with children, showing that they might not show
direct compassion to the child by standing up for it, they also experience compassion, just through caring
for their

Introduction To the DiSC Profile System

The DiSC profile system is a specialized profile assessment system. It is designed to provide takers with
a clue into which personality category they fall. Each characteristic is carefully laid out to determine
which profile best suits you. In brief, the profile consists of four categories that include dominance,
influence, steadiness and conscientiousness. Each profile consists of a description of various tendencies,
the preferred environment where they feel most comfortable, the type of people they need to be
associated with, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Effective Strategies
One way to be more effective is to take advantage of working with individuals that I m not accustomed
to. GE tends to provide courses during the year for project management. I recently completed Change
Acceleration Process and Project Managers Toolkit courses. Both were very good classes. I learned to
use tools for becoming organized and how to send clear, thought provoking messages that are brief and to
the point.
Conclusion
This profile instrument was very informative and at the same time confirmed the characteristics that I
thought I possessed. Each one of us has some characteristics that are assets and some that need work
strengths and weaknesses that we all possess. As employees in a company, all of our characteristics
work together as part of the business. Being part of a business or the corporate world, we all have
different tasks, talents, and characteristics that we bring to the organization. People work together, much
like organs as they function together within a human body. Just as each of us has one body with many
members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one
body, and each member belongs to all the others Romans 12:4 (New International Version). It takes time
and effort to develop as a well rounded individual. Potentially, no one employee is better than another

The Importance Of Mandated Learning Goals
New teachers struggle with balancing creativity and imposing guidelines and materials. Mandated
learning goals are the requirements set by the Department of Education that teachers must incorporate into
their curriculum. They outline the concepts that the students must understand before moving on to the
next grade. For example, Missouri Public Schools require that 5th graders must be able to read with
sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension by the end of the schoolyear as one of their
mandated learning goals (Common Core State Standards Initiative, 2017). Learning mandates remove
most opportunities for teachers to be creative with their lesson plan, because they must teach all the
required material first. One teacher argued that [i]f people think of schools as buildings and do not pay
attention to the people within them and the policies driving them, they do not understand what schools
are and what they could be in people s lives after she had left her teaching position due to
miscommunication and overbearing stipulations (as cited in Craig, 2014, p. 112). This teacher
acknowledged the struggle for schools to convince the politicians in charge of the mandated learning
goals to see schools as influential in the daily life of those who attend. Also, if teachers do not cover all
of the required material or the students do poorly on the state exams it reflects a failure on the teachers
part. Craig (2014) says the intended effect of the weeding out of
The Waves Zone And The Mid Tide Zone
As the Cellana denticulata is distributed in the upper lower intertidal zone and the mid tide zone it must
be able to withstand the upper lower intertidal zone and the mid tide zone as the rocky shore experiences
tidal fluctuations (abiotic factor) that occurs in a regular pattern in which the beach has submerged areas
and desiccated areas (the niche of the Cellana denticulata) this is an abiotic factor that affects their
survival. Tidal fluctuations are when the tide(sea) comes in and submerges areas of the rocky shore while
others are exposed. The tide ranges in vertical differences along the rocky shore; from high tide, mid tide
to low tide this is called zonation. These are the tides that fluctuate in a regular pattern along the rocky
shore and this is mainly due to the gravitation pull of the moon. However the sun also affects the tides but
has less gravitational force as the sun is further away from earth. The gravitational pull of the moon is the
main cause for tidal fluctuations as the moon has a stronger gravitational pull as it is closer to the earth
than the sun, hence the main cause for tidal fluctuations as the gravitational pull from the moon exerted
onto earth is greater than the earth. Because the earth is in constant motion of rotation the earth and the
moon become closer in distance as the earth is not perfectly round and has uneven surfaces. These uneven
surfaces or areas of the earth are closer in distance to the moon and therefore the gravitational pull
The Mistakes Of Mary Warren In The Crucible By Arthur Miller
The Mistakes of Mary Warren The fear of the unknown can make people do unimaginable things to
save themselves. This is exactly what Arthur Miller shows in The Crucible. Mary Warren is a follower,
she listens to what other people tell her to do because she does not have the courage to tell them no. She
is 17 years old and works for Elizabeth and John Proctoras their servent. When Reverend Parris discovers
Mary, Susana, Abigail, Betty, Mercy, and Ruth in the woods with Tituba conjuring up the devil, it causes
quite a stir in their town of Salem, Massachusetts. Mary Warren is a naive, lonely girl who does what she
knows is wrong in fear of what may happen to her if she does what is right, which leads to innocent
people dying and guilty people... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before Mary starts working for them, a beautiful girl by the name of Abigail is their servant. The cause
of exit for Abigail is because of a sin: lechery. She has an affair with John Proctor while Elizabeth is
sick and can not fulfill his needs. Abigail falls in love with John, but he loves Elizabeth and when she
finds out about what they did, she fires Abigail. This causes rage in Abigail, She is a cold, sniveling
woman (1271), Abigail says about Elizabeth to John. She hates Elizabeth. She wants to get revenge,
and that is exactly what she gets and she uses Mary in the process. After a long day at court, Mary
comes to the Proctor s house and has a poppet for Elizabeth. She says to her, I made a gift for you
today, Goody Proctor. I had to sit long hours in a chair, and passed the time with sewing. / We must all
love each other now, Goody Proctor (1295). Mary s intentions are good, she means no harm. Cheever,
the clerk of the court, soon arrives to the Proctor s house looking for Elizabeth. I have a warrant for
your wife (1305), he says to John. Cheever is appointed by the court to arrest those accused of
witchcraft and when asked who charged her, his reply is Abigail Williams. Abigail saw Mary sewing
the poppet in court and saw her stick the needle in the poppet once she was finished to hold it together.
Abigail then proceeds to find a needle of her own and sticks in inside her stomach and claims that
Elizabeth Proctor sent her spirit on her. This leads Elizabeth to be taken to be arrested and questioned.
After this, John tells Mary to testify against Abigail in the court but she refuses. I cannot charge murder
on Abigail. / She ll kill me for sayin that! / I cannot, they ll turn on me (1310/1311) Mary pleads to John,
she is terrified of Abigail, for she has threatened her. Mary does not want to go against
Nurse Administrator Research Paper
Roles and Functions of the Nurse Manager
The nature of modern medical services requires nursing leadership professionals who can establish and
maintain an efficient atmosphere for the health care delivery. The position of a nurse administrator has a
managerial function within a medical setting.
Working on a nursing leadership post requires a strong educational background. The most widely accepted
way to become a nursing administrator is a Master of Science in Nursing or a Master of Health
Administration with an emphasis on leadership, management or administration (Graduatenursingedu.org,
2016). Moreover, the unique qualification that is inherent for the nurse administrators is that they can mix
business and leadership skills with their health
Summary Of Ee Cummings In Just
Controlled Movement in E.E. Cummings in Just
E.E. Cummings 20th century modernist poem, in Just can be viewed as a chaotic poem. Through this
reading, the poem depicts the disorder that is often associated with children playing outside after a spring
rain. However, while Cummings unorthodox approach to poetry may elicit confusion from his readers,
this poem is, in fact, pointed and controlled. At first glance, the poem seems to be static because of its
repetition and uncontrolled because of its sporadic stanza breaks. However, it is through Cummings diction
and the structure of the poem itself through which movement becomes apparent in in Just . Through these
conventions, Cummings is able to control the time he presents to the reader in his poem, and it is through
this control Cummings causes the reader to slow down his/her reading and at other times he rushes the
reader through his words. These pauses and hastenings control the characters growth throughout the poem
and foster the reader s sense of its movement.
Cummings diction controls the speed of his poem. In in Just , Cummings throws the reader right into
spring. The hyphen following in just makes it seem like a more formal explanation is coming. Instead, the
speaker announces abruptly that it is spring. It is at this moment that the reader is thrust into the speaker s
world of spring. At times the poem moves slowly, Cummings uses hyphens to lengthen ideas; the world is
not just luscious and wonderful,
The Villain In Jason And The Argonauts
In the short story Jason and the Argonauts, Jason is considered the hero and the villain. You may ask
how do the two relate, they don t. Jason is the hero and the name villain was put into existence when a
girl name Medea came along and stumbled into his life during his quest. Let me ask you this, is capturing
the golden fleecebeing a hero or is playing a girl that is willing to help in getting the golden fleece being a
villain? Jasons punishment isn t right reason being he returned the golden fleece, he didn t force medea
into loving him, and medea slaughtered his children. As revealed in the story Jason showed
characteristics of all the paths a hero is needed to take. The throne shall soon be yours. But first you
must do one thing. Bring back the Golden Fleece from the kingdom of Colchis. Jason path of being hero
has begun. Jason is taking a heroic stands in taking on the challenge. Because I am able to predict the
future, Zeus has punished me. Although medea helped him along the way, the guider was really phineas.
Many distractions came along the way of obtaining the golden fleece. He had to face dragons, bulls, and

Put yourself in Jason s shoes if a naive girl like medea is willing to help you then of course you would
do anything to get her help right? Jason did what was necessary to get help from a woman on the inside.
The things that medea did helped Jason get passed the distractions which would be another guider. Jason
couldn t helped that medea caught love at first sight. Jason was on a path and did the necessary things to
