1. Design Information:
1.1. Design Codes & Standards:
This design report includes analysis and design of Structural Steel Beam, Column and
Connection Design Calculation. The status of this report represents the detailed analysis
and design comply with architectural, Local and International Standard (AISC)
requirement for actual dead load, live load other load as per the project requirement
were analyzed to evaluate the member size and behaviour of frame. Structural
analysis and Design of framing is done using STAAD-Pro software, all the Structural
Steel Members and connections have been made manually in accordance with
AISC-360-10 / LRFD also for the structural design the following codes are been used for
reference. Maximum loads are considered as per the loads mentioned below and Factored
Loads are considered as per Limit state approach is followed throughout the design.
a) Architectural / Structural Drawings and Project Specification.
b) Architectural / Structural Drawings and Project Specification.
c) ASCE7-05 for Loadings and combinations.
d) AISC 360-10 Specification for structural steel Buildings.
e) Manual of Steel Construction, AISC-Load & Resistance Factor Design.
1.2. Loading for Structural Steel Member Design:
LOAD CALCULATION:
1.2.1 Dead Load:
Steel γ:78.5kN/m3
Own Weight of Steel Factor =1.05 (including Own weight of Structural steel,
connection brackets and bolts etc...).
Own Weight of the Marble / Stone = 42 kg/m2
1.2.2 Live Load:
 Live Load-A:
Load of water (0.075 m3/m) = 0.75kN/m
Uniform Load on = 0.75kN/m
 Live Load-B:
Concentrated Load = 0.89kN (at mid Span)

1.2.3 Load Combination:

(a) Serviceability load combinations:
o DL*1.0+LL(A)*1.0
o DL*1.0+LL(B)*1.0
o DL*1.0+LL(A)*0.75
o DL*1.0+LL(B)*0.75
(b) Ultimate load combinations:
o DL*1.0+LL(A)*1.6
o DL*1.0+LL(B)*1.6
o DL*1.2+LL(A)*0.5
o DL*1.2+LL(B)*0.5
1.2.4 Deflection limit used in the analysis:
Beam : Span / 180 (Cantilever Beam)
: Span / 240 (Simply Supported Beam)
1.3 Material Properties:
1.3.1 STRUCTURAL STEEL
Structural Steel Grade = S275
Modulus of Elasticity: Es = 205000 Mpa
Shear Modulus: Gs = E/[2(1+v)]
Poisson’s ratio: v = 0.3
Coefficient of Linear expansion: ε = 12x 10^-6/°C
Density: ωs = 7850 Kg / m3
1.3.2 Grade 8.8 Bolts for Connections and Holding Down Bolts:
Shear Strength of Bolts: Ps 8.8 =375Mpa
Bearing Strength of Bolts: Pbb 8.8=1000Mpa
Tension Strength of Bolts: Pt 8.8 =560Mpa

1.3.3 Anchor Bolts:

Fischer -FAZ II (Mechanical Bolt Anchor)

1.3.4 Welding:
Design Strength for Steel S275 pw = 220 N/mm2
Page 4 of 43

2. Software Used:
Autodesk Autocad 2020 for Structural Detailing,
STAAD Pro V8i for Structural Analysis,
Idea Statica for Connection Design Calculation,
Fixperience for Anchor Bolt Design.

3. Conclusion:
This Calculation is design to the most critical load and to be found satisfied with AISC 360-10
code of practice for Steel Works, AISC Structural Steel Construction Manual. All connections
are capable to withstand to most critical design forces.

check all the proof results against local valid standards and approvals.
As fischer is not the design office, the attached is no guarantee for incorrect input or assumptions. Any
recommendations have to be approved by the building-authority or project engineer. Results are valid only for
anchor system calculated in the attached. If any part of the system is changed, it will invalidate this report and new
calculations would be required. The calculation was done under the assumption that a sufficient
splitting reinforcement is available. In this case the spliiting
failure can be omitted.
The transmission of the anchor loads to the supports of the concrete member shall be shown for the ultimate limit state and
the serviceability limit state; for this purpose, the normal verifications shall be carried out under due consideration of the
actions introduced by the anchors. For these verifications the additional provisions given in the current design method shall
be taken into account.
As a pre-condition the anchor plate is assumed to be flat when subjected to the actions. Therefore, the plate (if present) must
be sufficiently stiff. The C-Fix anchor plate design is based on a proof of stresses and does not allow a statement about the
stiffness of the plate. The proof of the necessary stiffness is not carried out by C-Fix.

Bolt anchor FAZ II K

For highest demands
Short and practical

The 12 sizes of FAZ II K in zinc-plated or The shorter bolt with minimum embedment depth is
stainless steel versions can be used up the economic choice for numerous applications such
to a fixture thickness of 20 mm. as the fixing of cable trays and substructures for façades.

With a choice of normal

washer or large washer GS.

Short and practical Your advantages at a glance

■ The properties of the FAZ II K considerably minimise the drilling
■ The FAZ II K is suitable for pre-positioned and push-through
effort and the hammer blows required to drive in the bolt anchor,
installation.
saving energy and installation time.
■ The small drill hole depth of the K-version speeds up installation
■ The tried-and-trusted expansion clip ensures a high load-bearing
even further and reduces the number of reinforcement hits.
capacity even with minimum embedment depth. This guarantees
an unbeatable price-performance ratio.

1) The partial safety factors for material resistance as regulated in the ETA as well as a partial safety factor for load 6) For combinations of tensile loads, shear loads, bending moments as well as reduced edge distances or spacings
actions of γL = 1.4 are considered. As an single anchor counts e.g. an anchor with a spacing s ≥ 3 × hef and an (anchor groups) see ETA.
edge distance c ≥ 1.5 × hef. Accurate data see ETA. 7) Minimum possible axial spacings resp. edge distance while reducing the permissible load.
2) For higher concrete strength classes up to C50/60 higher permissible loads may be possible. 8) The given loads refer to the European Technical Assessment ETA-05/0069, issue date 03.07.2017. Design of
3) Drill method hammer drilling resp. hollow drilling. For further allowable drill methods see ETA. the loads according TR055/ETAG 001, Annex C, Method A (for static resp. quasi-static loads).
4) Eff. anchorage depth: min. anchorage depth, standard anchorage depth, max. anchorage depth 9) A reinforcement in the concrete to prevent splitting is required. The width of the cracks has to be limited under
5) The anchorage depths smaller than 40 mm are only allowed for single anchors as part of a multiple fixing of consideration of the splitting forces at wk ∼ 0.3mm.

Values in bold are less than the single shear capacity of the bolt.
Values in italic are greater than the double shear capacity of the bolt.
Bearing values assume standard clearance holes.
If oversize or short slotted holes are used, bearing values should be multiplied by 0.7.
If long slotted or kidney shaped holes are used, bearing values should be multiplied by 0.5.
If appropriate, shear capacity must be reduced for large packings, large grip lengths and long joints.
