Aral Program 2025

Accomplishment Report

A summer we can’t forget. It was filled with learning, passion, and dedication.

The Causwagan National High School offers the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning
(ARAL) Program, a national initiative launched by the Department of Education (DepEd) to
address learning gaps, particularly in reading in English (PAGBASA), Filipino (BUDYONG),
and mathematics (MathTuto). Through this program, it helps the students who are below the
minimum proficiency levels in core subjects to meet their grade-level standards. With this, I
started to like the program, and I became one of the volunteer teachers.

The ARAL Program consists of 19 class days every Tuesday to Thursday. I was tasked to teach
Budyong (Filipino) in grades 7 and 8. It is really a challenging task for me because I am not a
Filipino major, and I don’t have any background about the lessons to be taught, but I was really
dedicated to teaching the best that I could, so I researched it so that my students could gain
learnings that they could use in their next grade level. We started by identifying words in
Filipino and their definition and how to use them in a sentence. We practiced storytelling by
creating their own short stories and sharing them in the class and practiced basic grammar in
Filipino because that is one of the basic things they need to learn. I gave different reading
materials and worksheets as well to assess their learning.

A month has passed, and we can see in the faces of our students the smiles because they learned
so much during that duration. And by that reaction, I can say that the ARAL Program was
successfully implemented. Our hearts filled with happiness after seeing our students graduate
from the ARAL Program last June 6, 2025.

I am very grateful to all the people who extended their time and effort for the success of this
ARAL Program, to our school principal, who really motivated us to do better as teachers, and to
the sponsors and donors for unending snacks for our students. Indeed, it was a summer we can’t
forget.
