CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the
precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing
(See PRECAUTION ).

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent
the airbag from working.

2. REMOVE REAR FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY


a. Release the 2 knobs and remove the rear floor carpet.

3. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX


a. Remove the rear deck floor box.

c. Pass the rear seat outer belt through the slit in the roof side inner garnish.

HINT:

Use the same procedure for both sides.

a. Pull portion A, shown in the illustration, toward you, remove the 2 claws on the lower side
followed by the claw on the upper side. Then remove the seat belt anchor cover cap.

 Install a protective cover onto the curtain shield airbag as soon as the front pillar garnish is
removed.
 Replace the front pillar garnish clip with a new one when the front pillar garnish is removed.

b. Align the joiner box for the roof wire with the marks on the roof headlining.
c. Install the roof wire onto the roof headlining with 10 new pieces of tape.

3. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE COMPARTMENT DOOR STOPPER


a. Disengage the claw and remove the console compartment door stopper.

4. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE COMPARTMENT DOOR STOPPER


a. Disengage the claw and remove the console compartment door stopper.
5. REMOVE CONSOLE COMPARTMENT DOOR CUSHION
a. Remove the 2 console compartment door cushions.

6. REMOVE CONSOLE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK SUB-ASSEMBLY


a. Remove the 2 screws and remove the console compartment door lock.

7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL CUP HOLDER SUB-ASSEMBLY


a. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the
instrument panel cup holder.

8. REMOVE CONSOLE REAR END PANEL


a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Disengage the 10 claws and 3 guides and remove the console rear end panel.

1. INSTALL CONSOLE REAR END PANEL


a. Engage the 3 guides and 10 claws and install the console rear end panel.
b. Install the 2 screws.

1. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY


a. Install the console box with the 3 bolts.
b. Install the 2 clips.
