including money

I- OBJECTIVES:
 represents and explains Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction (MDAS)
correctly.
 Perform a series of two or more operations
Value Focus: Cleanliness

II. SUBJECT MATTER:


PERFORMING SERIES OF OPERATIONS(MDAS)
Prerequisite Concepts and Skills:
Mastery of basic operations (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division)
Materials: technical-visual aid, manila paper, strips of cartolina

References: Kto12 Grade 4 Curriculum, LM Math Grade 4 pages 82-84

III. PROCEDURE:
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Drill the class with the basic fundamental operation.

2. Review: Let the pupils read and understand the word problem.

3. Motivation

Talk about garbage disposal and the practice of segregating biodegradable and non-
biodegradable materials.
What do you usually do with the empty plastic bottles at home? What other things can be
recycled?
Emphasize the importance of recycling, re using, and reducing.
Match column A to column B

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
The Supreme Pupil Government(SPG) of Mangga Elementary School was able to
collect 30 pieces of plastic bottles each in Grade level I, II, III and 45 pieces of
disposable spoons and forks accumulated by Grade IV, V and VI for their project Pera
Mula sa Basura. How many pieces of items did the pupils collect in all?
