1. OBJECTIVE
To provide a detailed procedure in sampling of raw materials and packaging materials
2. SCOPE
This includes documentation and sampling of raw materials and packaging materials
3. DEFINITION OF TERMS
3.1. Sampling – a process or techniques of selecting a representative part of population for determining
parameters or characteristic of the whole population
3.2. Raw Material – materials undergo processing and transformation into intermediate substances,
further used to make final products
3.3. Packaging Material – materials which are used for the storage, protection, handling and delivery
4. PROCEDURE/RESPONSIBILITY
PROCEDURE RESPONSIBILITY
4.1. Draw samples from the material. QA Personnel
4.2. Examine all the material containers for damage before sampling. QA Personnel
4.3. Mark the outer container of material in sequential order. This QA Personnel
identifies the container number from which the samples will be
taken.
4.4. Do not touch any material with bare hands. Always use the QA Personnel
appropriate sampling tools.
4.5. Plastic zip lock is the sample container to be used for raw materials QA Personnel
and PE bag for packaging materials.
4.6. Label the container properly. QA Personnel
4.7. Observe cleanliness when taking the samples to avoid QA Personnel
contamination of the material.
4.8. The method used in sampling is based on military studies with a QA Personnel
formula √N + 1.
4.9. The Collected samples will be submitted to QC for testing. QA Personnel
4.10. Samples taken must be recorded in Raw Material Sampling Log QA Personnel
Sheet and Packaging Material Sampling Log Sheet.
4.11. Finally, washing the sampling tools with unscented soap and QA Personnel
water.
