PROJECT TITLE:
STUDY AND TASK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
INTRODUCTION:
Study And Task Management System is software which is helpful not
only for the students but also for the business traits in Managing and
Organizing their Workloads. In the current system all the activities are
done manually. It is very time consuming and costly. Our Study and Task
Management System deals with the various activities related to the
students, task manager for Business Persons, schools, colleges and much
more...
Task Management:
Task management is the process of managing your tasks or activities
through the project’s lifecycle and it involves various stages, like
planning, testing, tracking, and reporting.
Study Management:
A Study Management is a software application for the administration,
documentation, tracking, reporting, automation and delivery of
educational courses, training programs, or learning and development
programs.
Why Do We Need a Study and Task Management System
• A tasks management software is a very crucial tool for every project as it
aids the ability to keep track of project’s deadlines, tasks complication,
meetings and managing the team more effectively in real-time.
• As the project size increases and it increases the number of dependent
task and sub-activities, it will be hard to track these tasks on a notepad
or in a diary. So, we need a tool which will let us access those task list
and let us the permissions to control those tasks in terms of deadlines
and requirements.
• A task management software is made to create a project, its task and
who needs to be doing them. Without such tools, it will be hard for us to
know who is working on those tasks. A task management system enables
everyone in the team to come together and work together for project
success.
• Whereas Study Management System will help the students to organize
there Day Today work. And it provides Learning Facilities to the students
in the form of study materials, videos and many more…
PROJECT JUSTIFICATION:
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
❖ The main problem is how to efficiently manage tasks so as to meet
deadline that are associated with task.
❖ Data integrity and security: Security of data can be easily compromise;
documents associated with different task may be accessed by un-
authorized personnel. Also personnel can give a false report on the time
a task is being assigned or to be completed.
❖ In addition, organizing a team to work effectively on a project can be so
difficult. Team performing various tasks belonging to a particular project
cannot collaborate at a real time, they have to schedule a meeting for
that to be possible which would contribute to longevity of time in
completing a given task or project.
❖ The great enemy of order and efficient task management is still paper.
Very often, huge amounts of paperwork accumulate on top of our
desks, and they only contribute to distraction and stress.
❖ Due to lack of Quality content and increased costs of Learning classes
students face mental health problems in school and colleges. Due to a
lack of experience, in dealing with these challenges, students can face
stress, anxiety, and depression.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
The Objective of our work is to design a robust and efficient system to
solve the storage efficiency issues and proper management. To produce
a web-based application that would be able to keep track records of
each progress of research, meeting discussion of supervisor and student
research. Also, the system would be able to provide a progress report of
each student to their supervisor.
Customizing the learning experience by providing our study
management system to make it fun and less burdensome and make the
children fall in love with reading.
Prioritization:
A task board lets you organize your task by priority so you can ensure
that the most important things are completed first. That being said, task
management tools are easy to update. By prioritizing tasks, we are able
to focus on how work should be attacked, rather than jumping from one
item to another without any direction.
The Study management system is important because it streamlines
student’s administration with its robust features. If you are still looking
for a system that can fit student’s operations well, then this system will
be the most optimal choice.
Proposed Approach/Customization:
This project will ensure that the new system can be successfully used by
students and their respective supervisors to keep track research progression
from time to time.
Phase 1: Beginning the project – requirement discussion among team member
to computerize and automate from manual systems.
Phase 2: Developing the project – development process will translate to a very
useful system function for every requirement that has been planned.
Phase 3: Concluding the project – the system will be validated base on planned
requirement and baseline performance measured. Typical scenarios and
contingencies will be explored to ensure the most efficient failover processes
will be possible.
Software requirement:
• Knowledge in php, xml, CSS
• Knowledge in X Mapp software: a free and open-source cross-platform
web server solution stack package
Hardware requirement:
•Windows 7 or more
•4gb RAM
•64-bit processor
Technical details:
This software will have 3 modes
1.Admin mode 2.Supervisor mode 3.User mode
All the three modes will have different features and options as of the
requirement of respective modes
1.Admin mode:
This section will detail out the step by step of all the activities that can be
performed
• Create global roles
• create membership role
• Create group
• Create user
2. Supervisor mode:
This section will detail out the step by step of all the activities that can be
performed by lecturer who become a supervisor for a research student.
•Assign group to a particular user(student)
•Create project and create Group
•Create basic activity
3.User mode:
This section will detail out the step by step of all the activities that can be
performed by student who register
•Create task under activity
•View and export task
•Download materials Uploaded
Specification:
•Efficient Project and Task Management
•Getting Change Notifications and Reminders
•Managing Resources
•Using collaborative calendars
•Creating contact details
•Duplicating(copy) task / study details/materials
•Storage option
SALIENT FEATURES:
1. The user can study from an android application or desktop software
depending upon his comfort.
2. The database is online. Hence, There is no space overhead. It is not consuming
local storage.
3. The user can maintain his/her data according to topics.
4. The user can store multiple file types such as: Document, Pdf, Excel sheet,
Videos further user can make notes related to certain topics with highlights of
different colours and styling options.
5. And user can store links related to certain topics so that he/she can browse
and use them whenever it needs.
6. There is another feature in software i.e. Calendar. The user can add particular
events like exams, submission or study schedule. And it will start raising a
reminder before 5 days of an event.
7. A user can set or delete reminders of the particular topics so that he can
revise it later.
8. He/she will then make a folder for the subject named “DS” and “Trees
concept” inside it in the software. This will act as a key to handle all the stuff
and will also store created date and time.
9. He/she will add some notes related to it, online video tutorial clips,
implementation of algorithms such as BFS, DFS etc. and also the web-links
related to that topic for quick access. He /she can also share it with friends.
10. If required, he/she will set a reminder for revision.
Innovativeness and Usefulness:
Present software is not integrated with all these features. Normally, a user can
save notes only with the present system. So, for each of these facilities, a user
will require a different application and this will consume a lot of space and
overhead due to scattered data.
Outcome Of the Project:
It can be useful for school as well as college students to use it for study and
notes diary.
Task management is used to manage your tasks, help with the estimation and
scheduling, track dependencies, resources and milestones and help you make
decisions when changes in priority are needed.
Conclusion:
It has been a great pleasure for us to work on this exciting and challenging
project. This project proved good for us as it will provide practical knowledge
of not only programming in PHP and My SQL web-based application and no
some extent Windows Application and SQL Server, but also about all handling
procedure related with “Administrative support task management system”. It
also provides knowledge about the latest technology used in developing web
enabled application and client server technology that will be great demand in
future. This will provide better opportunities and guidance in future in
developing projects independently.
