IDENTIFYING SPHERE OF CONNECTION

kaibigan, trabaho o paaralan, komunidad, at kultura.

I notice, even to myself, that “the longer I have been in the church, the smaller my
connection is with those outside the church.”

My sphere of connection was so extensive when I became a believer. I was

connected to IEMELIF at 1980 and was involved in Mission Committee and they used
my connection in Brgy Deparo but actually I am a native of Llano.

Sphere of connection:
 Brgy Capt Deparo
 Brgy Capt Llano
 Cursillo House in Bagumbong
 Catholic Church In Deparo
 Deparo High School
 Several Crusade was made in Deparo initiated by IEMELIF Mission Committee.
But due to lack of training and experience and support and manpower it did not
result to expected outcome and yet the church in Deparo was established.

Being a former businessman, I was connected to my Brother who became a politician

and businessman who introduce me to City Official.

I was invited sometimes to his business establishment for inaugural prayer but I
reject for fear of compromising my religious conviction.

When I became a pastor I was now identified as a religious leader and this was the
start of my new journey, and my sphere of connection was limited to the four
corners of the church, so to speak.

The only connection I have now is on your connection.

5 SPHERE OF CONNECTION AT PAANO MAG-EBANGHELYO SA BAWAT ISA

My conversion was so overwhelming, that the first person I told about my new
experience was my wife.
followed by my mother.

sambahayan.”(Gawa 16:31)
Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how
much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”
(Mark 5:19)
 “The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have
found the Messiah’ (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.”(John
1:41–42)

pinagdadaanan.

4. Komunidad (Mga kapitbahay at kakilala)

5. Kultura at Lipunan (Mas malawak na koneksyon) (to the ends of the earth)

“When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ 6 If someone who promotes
peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you. 7 Stay there,
eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do
not move around from house to house.(Luke 10:5)
Luke 10:4:

“Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.” (NIV)

Here, Jesus is giving instructions to the seventy (or seventy-two) disciples He sent
out to preach and heal. The meaning of His words is rooted in urgency, dependence,
and focus.

Meaning of Each Part:

“Do not take a purse or bag or sandals”

Jesus wanted His disciples to depend fully on God’s provision through the hospitality
of those who received the message.

This shows that their mission was not about wealth, comfort, or material security,
but about faith and reliance on God.

It also emphasizes urgency: they should not waste time preparing elaborate supplies
but go immediately with what they had.

“Do not greet anyone on the road”

In Jewish culture, greetings were not quick handshakes but often long and formal
exchanges.

Jesus was not forbidding kindness but teaching them to stay focused on the mission.
They had no time for distractions or delays.

The harvest was urgent (v. 2), and the message of the Kingdom of God had to be
delivered without hesitation.
Luke 10:7 says:

“Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his
wages. Do not move around from house to house.” (NIV)

Here, Jesus is giving instructions to the seventy(-two) disciples He sent out to preach
the Kingdom of God. Let’s break down what He means:

1. “Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you”

Jesus is teaching His disciples to be content and accept the hospitality provided.

They should not be picky or demanding but gratefully receive whatever food and
drink are offered, even if it’s simple.

This reflects humility and trust in God’s provision.

2. “For the worker deserves his wages”

Just as laborers deserve pay for their work, so do ministers of the Gospel deserve
support from those they serve.

Jesus affirms that it’s right for God’s servants to be provided for materially while they
devote themselves to spiritual work (see also 1 Corinthians 9:14; 1 Timothy 5:18).

3. “Do not move around from house to house”

Jesus warns against seeking better accommodations or more generous hosts.

Moving from house to house could make their mission look greedy or opportunistic.

Instead, they should stay content in one place, focusing on ministry rather than
personal comfort.

connection?

Hamong Aplikasyon (Ngayong Linggo)

Amen.”
