Finite Element Analysis: Presented by J.Sai Ganesh

Finite element analysis is a numerical method for solving engineering and mathematical physics problems. It involves discretizing a structure into smaller elements connected by nodes, then selecting a displacement function within each element, typically a linear or quadratic polynomial. The method can be used to analyze structural problems like displacements and stresses or non-structural issues involving temperature, fluid pressure, and fluid flow.

FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS

introduction
PRESENTED BY
J.SAI GANESH
FEA DEFENITION
FEA is a numerical tool for solving problems of
engineering and mathematical physics.
Finite element problems can be classified into two
types ,

Structural – displacement solutions, stress strain

Non-structural – Temperature, fluid pressure and fluid
flow…
DISCRETIZATION
It is a process of sub dividing a part into convenient
number of smaller elements.
EXAMPLES.,
NODES
The elements which are discretized can be inter
connected by means of nodes or nodal points.
SELECTION OF A DISPLACEMENT
FUNCTION
It involves in selecting a displacement function within each
element. Polynomial of linear and quadratic are given.,
