These two words have almost the same
meaning. Both involve investigative work in which
information is sought about something. Inquiry is a
term used to look for information by asking various
questions on what you are curious about while
research is to discover truths by investigating on
your chosen topic scientifically.
1.Inquiry is defined as “a seeking for truth, information or
knowledge”. It is a problem-solving technique.
2.The information and data pursued through questioning begins
with gathering by applying the different human senses.
3. Individuals carry on the process of inquiry from birth till death.
4.Inquiry is synonymous with the word investigation.
What is
Research?
It follows a step-by-step process of
investigation that uses a
standardized approach in
answering questions or solving
problems (Polit & Beck, 2004).
Research is an investigation
following ordered steps leading to
a discovery of new
information or concepts
(Sanchez, 1999).
