INTRODUCTION
The main aim of any electric power supply is to provide uninterrupted power
supply at all times to all its consumers.
This project is a design of an automatic changeover switch.
when there is any mains failure, the automatic changeover switch will
change to an alternative power supply
Objective
To design a solar and battery backup and automatic transfer switch system which will offer protection
against equipment damage and data loss.
To Utilize Solar Power.
To Reduce fuel costing of generator
To Test and Analyze.
Methodology
Creating an idea for design and construction of auto transfer switch
Collecting the all components and programming for the microcontroller to
controlled the system.
Setting all components in a board & soldering. Then assembling the all block
in a board and finally run the system & checking.
Main Components
Arduino Uno
Voltage Sensor
LCD Display
Relay Module
Inverter
Solar Panel
Buck Converter
Arduino UNO
The Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board
based on the ATmega328p.
Arduino is an open-source, prototyping
platform and its simplicity makes it ideal for
any types of project to use as well as
professionals and Students.

Working Principle
In general condition when main source is active then 50% load is supply from main
and another 50% load supply from solar.
If solar battery voltage is less than 11V then Load will supply from main line.
If main line is not available then 100% load supply from solar source.
If solar and main line both are not available then 100% load are get supply from
Generator.
Project Picture
Advantage
Easy to install
Fully automated
No maintenance cost
No need to press switch
Information transfers instantly
Disadvantage
High initial cost
Battery and inverter need to be use according to load
Applicable for single phase load
Application
This project can be used at
Home
Industry
Commercial office
Corporate office etc
Future Scope
Current sensor can be add for measure consumed power of solar, main and generator.
SD card and RTC module may add to keep store source usable time for future data
analysis.
IOT can be implement by using Wi-Fi/Ethernet to transfer usable source status.
CONCLUSION
An ATS is an electrical device for transferring power sources to an electrical load.
It will help to save lives, reduce percentage of accident and reduce waste of time. The
program we embedded in the micro controller works as we predicted.
According to the study and analysis of various parts of the system, a design has been carried
out.
The results obtained from the measurement shows that the system performs well under all
the conditions.
