Adele forced to postpone next month of Las Vegas residency after sickness 'took toll' on her voice
With only 20 shows left in her Las Vegas residency, Adele has announced on Instagram that she has to postpone some shows after admitting she's had issues with her voice
Adele has shared with her fans that she is postponing her next ten shows in March.
The Somebody Like You singer revealed a few days ago that she was placed on vocal rest after an illness "took a toll on her voice." Now it appears that she needs more than just a small rest, as "doctors orders" dictate she postpone her shows next month.
She shared a post on Instagram updating her excited fans about the heartbreaking news. "Sadly I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency," she wrote.

"I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break. I hadn't quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I'm sick again, and unfortunately it's taken a toll on my voice.
"And so on Doctors orders I have no choice but to rest thoroughly. The remaining 5 weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date. We are already working out the details and you will be sent the information asap. The postponed dates are 1. 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 & 30 March."
She captioned her post: "I love you, I'll miss you like mad and I'm sorry for the inconvenience x."
While performing at her residency this weekend, Adele admitted that she was having issues with her voice and compared herself to sounding like Ursula from the Disney film The Little Mermaid.
She previously had surgery on her throat for polyps in 2011 and dealt with vocal cord issues in the past. "In the middle of last night - I'm sure you can hear it in my talking voice and my singing voice a little bit. Your girl was tired. I didn't sleep very well..." she told her packed residency show at The Coliseum.
"And Ursula from the ocean has come from my chest tonight. I can't hit my headnotes properly. I didn't sleep very well and my chest is on fire," she continued.
She later added: "Straight after this show I am going on voice rest. Can you imagine how hard now me not talking for three days is? So I'm going to be in bed coughing my guts up on complete voice rest."
Besides the ten shows she postponed, Adele has ten more shows leading into June left in her Vegas residency. After her time in Vegas is done she'll head to Munich, Germany to start a string of ten stadium shows in the country.
