Ellen DeGeneres shows off her $26million England home as she shares rare glimpse into her life
Ellen DeGeneres has shared a rare glimpse into her personal life with wife Portia de Rossi, as the couple have settled into their new home in the Cotswolds
Ellen DeGeneres has given fans a sneak peek into her new life in England with wife Portia de Rossi. The former talk show host, 67, shared intimate photos on Instagram of their new Cotswolds home, believed to be worth around $26 million. The couple relocated to the UK last year following Donald Trump's presidential election win. Ellen was among several celebrities, including Cardi B, Lili Reinhart, and Christina Applegate, who publicly criticized Trump supporters leading up to the election.
Disheartened by the election results, Ellen and her 52 year old wife expressed their wish to start anew in England.
The Instagram photos reveal that the couple has comfortably settled into their stunning new home, featuring an open-floor plan for the kitchen, dining room, and living room.
Floor-to-ceiling windows provide a generous view of the lush green backyard in the pictures shared by the comedian.
Ellen and Portia, who tied the knot in 2008, have reportedly made some changes to the property, including a fresh coat of ivory and matte mocha latte beige paint.
The decor is understated, with a tiled dining room table and eight leather chairs; a glass coffee table; and lounge chair which sit on muted grey and ecru rugs.
This modest approach starkly contrasts with Mr. Trump's style, as photos reveal he has had part of his own home demolished in the US. The former President plans to build a lavish ballroom at the White House.
Ellen, who has had a successful career in the US for over four decades, seemed pleased to showcase her minimalist style.
In an Instagram video, the former actress shares: "Sport has brought so much joy into the house and it makes us so happy to see Kid play again, even though he has a very unique style of play."
Sport and Kid are the couple's dogs, seen frolicking in the video.
The estate is teeming with animals, as it houses Ellen and Portia's horses, chickens, and free-roaming sheep that help maintain the grass in the rural Cotswolds.
This area is a favorite among celebrities seeking to escape London's hustle and bustle.
In a recent conversation, Ellen revealed: "When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn't live without her horses.
"We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them."
The Ellen Degeneres Show aired on several stations, primarily owned by NBC, from 2003 to May 2022.
As of 2022, it had won 63 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four for Outstanding Talk Show.
