Meghan Markle's six-word message to Prince Harry on 'uneasy' outing decoded by lip reader
Meghan Markle had a six-word comment to 'nervous' husband Prince Harry during their recent 'uneasy' appearance at a New York event this week, a lip reader has uncovered
Meghan Markle reportedly had a six-word message for her husband, Prince Harry, during their recent "uneasy" outing in New York, as revealed by a lip reader.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a rare joint public appearance at the Project Healthy Minds' third annual World Mental Health Day Gala on Thursday, Oct. 9. They were honored with the 'Humanitarians of the Year' Award for their efforts to create a safer digital environment for families and young people.
However, the glamorous night out for the ex-royals wasn't all smooth sailing, as body language experts suggest Prince Harry appeared "nervous." Now, lip reader NJ Hickling has exclusively told Express US that Meghan reprimanded her husband on the red carpet.
After scrutinizing the couple on the red carpet, Hickling noted one moment that "hints at an off-camera strain between them," reports the Express US.
According to the lip reader, "Meghan turns to Harry, waiting for a moment, hoping to catch his attention and trying to avoid the cameras. She quickly says, 'We have to look together now.' He softly replies, 'Yeah,' and shifts his footing."
Hickling concluded, "Her composure is flawless, but Harry's expression and body language suggest unease, distant and detached, despite the physical closeness."
Online, fans seemed to pick up on some tension between the couple, especially when they spoke at the event. One person commented on X, formerly known as Twitter, "Good lord, he hates her!"
Another commented, "He no longer has eyes for her. I've never seen him blank her completely before, especially in that suit jacket. He looks like he doesn't know where to place them."
A third noted, "I didn't listen to a word, but the energy shows they're competing with each other."
However, body language expert Judi James thinks that Harry and Meghan were entirely at ease during the awards ceremony, telling the Mirror, "This is Harry and Meghan in pared-back, more understated mode to accept their award and do some ongoing campaigning too.
"Their body language is suitably simple too, although their facial expressions suggest some pride in their joint profile and some personal pride from Meghan towards her husband."
The body language specialist noted that Meghan seemed mesmerized by Harry, while the duo also appeared to be reveling in their comeback to public focus for such a significant occasion.
"It's her raised and rounded cheeks that form this look of pride and a sense of self-satisfaction here as she looks up at Harry," she remarked.
"His asymmetric, closed lip smile reflects the seriousness of their campaign, although his demeanor also reflects a sense of pleasure at being in the spotlight to promote it."
Though Harry appeared to be the "alpha" of the night, James implied that Meghan was actually controlling the situation, quietly steering her spouse through the media session before proceedings began.
The expert noted, "Their hand clasp is relaxed rather than tight, and although Harry is adopting the more alpha stance, Meghan is throwing glances to signal when to move onto the next spot for the cameras."
However, she also mentioned that Harry seemed to exhibit "some nerves" while Meghan maintained a more composed demeanor.
She told Express US, "This is a rather different look from Meghan's 'Runway Queen' one in Paris, although the sleek, simple styling and the understated body language rituals do share certain messaging traits.
"Harry's look is more intense here, as though he wishes to show he means business in his role as a campaigner."
