Netflix's The Wrong Paris star Madison Pettis unrecognizable in huge 2000s comedy

The actress looks worlds away from her role in a major noughties drama.

Netflix's new romcom, The Wrong Paris, features a handful of former child stars that fans may not recognise.


Many viewers will know its lead actress Miranda Cosgrove for fronting Nickelodeon's iCarly. However, other fans may not recall Madison Pettis' career-making role in a huge 2000s comedy.

In The Wrong Paris, Pettis plays Lexi Miller, a single woman who joins a dating show in hopes of winning over bachelor Trey (played by Pierson Fodé).

She stars alongside Cosgrove, who plays main character Dawn, another young woman who signs up for the dating show but with a different motive.

When Dawn is accepted into her dream art school in Paris, France, she realises that she cannot afford the flight to Europe, or make ends meet once she arrives.


So, the cunning artist applies for The Honey Pot, a dating series that she believes is filmed in the city of love.

However, she soon discovers that The Bachelor-style show takes place in Paris, Texas, which spoils her plans.


If Pettis seems familiar, you may recognise her from the 2007 comedy The Game Plan.

The film follows an NFL player who discovers he has an 8-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.


Pettis starred alongside A-lister Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, who portrayed the self-centred football star.

Following the role, Pettis also shared the screen with Will Smith in the 2008 thriller Seven Pounds.

The child star additionally featured in movies such as religious drama Do You Believe?, Netflix's He's All That, and 2023 Spring Break drama, Deltopia.

The Wrong Paris marks her first movie role in two years, which a synopsis that reads: "A young woman (Miranda Cosgrove) joins a dating show thinking it's in Paris, France, but it's actually in Paris, Texas. She plots a way to get eliminated until her unexpected feelings for the bachelor (Pierson Fodé) complicate her plans."

Other stars featured in the romcom include Emmy-nominated actress Yvonne Orji; Reign alum Torrance Coombs; Reginald the Vampire actor Christin Park; Madeleine Arthur from To All The Boys I've Loved Before; and Emilija Baranac, best known for The CW's Riverdale.
