Danity Kane is reuniting once more with a United States tour in December. The group was signed by Sean 'Diddy' Combs and formed on Diddy's reality competition series, Making the Band.
Danity Kane is gearing up for their return with an upcoming tour.
The girl group, which was formed by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, are going on a mini American tour this December. It was announced that Danity Kane is celebrating their 20th anniversary with a new tour called the Untold Chapter. The tour poster is the silhouette of three women behind a orange background. It has not been confirmed yet which Danity Kane members are coming back as there have been various changes to the lineup over the years.
The tagline on the tour post was, "This isn't a comeback. It's a revolution. #TheUntoldChapter." The girl group last was together in 2020 before going on an indefinite hiatus.
How can you buy tickets to Danity Kane's anniversary tour?
As per Danity Kane's website, tickets will be going on sale on Friday, Oct. 17 at 11:00 a.m. EST. This comes as earlier this week, the group had teased a reunion of sorts with a photo on their social media of three silhouettes standing together, all raising their hands into peace signs.
The group first formed on the third season of MTV's Making the Band in 2005 and signed with Diddy's record label, Bad Boy Records. The original group had Aubrey O'Day, Dawn Richard, Shannon Bex, Wanita "D. Woods" Woodgett, and Aundrea Fimbres.
Danity Kane released their self-titled debut album in 2006, which garnered success in the United States. Two singles from the album, Show Stopper and Ride for You, charted on the Billboard Hot 100. They released their sophomore album, Welcome to the Dollhouse, and their song Damaged was the group's second top single. Danity Kane was the first female girl group to top the Billboard 200 with their first and second album.
What happened to Danity Kane?
After a meeting about the tension in the group in the October 2008 finale episode of Making the Band 4, Diddy removed Aubrey and D.Wood from the group. The three remaining members went on to complete their previously scheduled promotional events and then officially broke up in 2009.
Aubrey, Dawn, Shannon, and Aundrea announced they were reuniting in 2013, but Aundrea announced her departure from Danity Kane on the first night of their reunion tour in 2014. The group — which then-consisted of Aubrey, Dawn, Shannon — broke up again in 2014 and got back together in August 2018. In 2020, Aubrey and Dawn released music as a duo under Danity Kane and had stopped posting on their official Instagram account in March of that year.
This reunion also comes as Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in prison following his conviction of two counts of transportation for prostitution. He was acquitted on his more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. Diddy is still facing civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual abuse following the end of his federal trial and has denied the allegations.
During his trial, Dawn testified against the disgraced music mogul and talked about the alleged abuse she witnessed and experienced at the hands of Diddy. She also filed a lawsuit against Diddy in September 2024, where she alleged abuse and exploitation.
Aubrey did not testify as she said she was not asked but has spoken out against Diddy over the years.
Dawn did confirm she was not apart of the upcoming reunion. She responded to a fan on Twitter, who made a post on Thursday, Oct. 9 about Danity Kane looking like they are getting together and wondering which three.
"I am not apart of this. I have not heard about it nor knew about it. sending everyone love," the singer said.
The Mirror US reached out to Danity Kane's reps. Diddy denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
